This extension was acquired by Avast, a company I don't trust. With the permissions needed for this extension, I decide it is too dangerous. I disabled it for the moment and I'll see the new privacy policy.

Today the owner announced that the extension was sold to Avast: the notorious antivirus company that has been busted spying on users' online activity (check articles from PCMag, Vice, How-to-geek etc). I uninstalled it immediately.

This extension was recently acquired by Avast, a company known long for its abusive data collection policies. Heartbroken, I, have to let this useful extension go because I cannot support such bad corporate behavior and praying eyes on my browser activities. Today, I stop using this extension. But happy that the developer made some money, good luck but you won't be seeing me using this extension unless it went back to the way it was before. GG while it lasted.

In an acquisition context, even the most bland corporate PR statements will mention future privacy policy. The complete lack of any mention of data privacy in the developer's acquisition statement speaks volumes.

The extension redirected me to a promotional page advertising Avast Antivirus.

This extension can not be trusted anymore as it has been acquired by Avast, which has collected and sold customer data before (look up Avast Jumpshot).

Was a great extension, but the dev sold to Avast. Uninstalled.

I request the author to publicly share the full source code of the latest GPLv3 available version of the extension after project's Avast acquisition information that was published today.

Thanks for working on the extension for the past years, but please de-list this extension and list it again under Avast branding so all the users know what they sign up to and don't share the user-base with the acquiring company.

Just received a pop-up tab saying "I sold out to Avast", wtf? Remove this extension ASAP

Recently acquired by Avast. I just wanted an extension to get rid of cookie banners, not spyware for a scammy company. My experience has been fine so far, but I can no longer recommend this extension.
