Akross is a lightweight browser extension that automatically backs up and synchronizes your bookmarks across multiple devices using your personal Dropbox account. Your data is stored exclusively in your own Dropbox. Akross never collects or transmits your bookmarks to any third-party server.
Features
- Automatic bookmark backup to your personal Dropbox account
- Real-time sync across Firefox, LibreWolf, Chrome, and Brave
- Deletions propagate across all connected devices automatically
- Conflict resolution based on bookmark creation timestamps — the most recent action always wins
- Dropbox token auto-refresh ensures uninterrupted sync sessions
- Periodic background sync every 5 minutes, with instant sync triggered on any bookmark change
How It Works
Connect Akross to your Dropbox account once. From that point, any bookmark you add or delete is automatically synced across all browsers where Akross is installed and connected to the same Dropbox account. No account registration, no external servers, no third-party data handling.
Privacy
All bookmark data is stored directly in your own Dropbox under /bookmarks.json. Akross does not have access to any Dropbox files outside of this single file. No analytics, no tracking, no data collection of any kind.
Permissions Used
• bookmarks — to read, create, and delete bookmarks
• storage — to store your Dropbox credentials and sync state locally
