Since last few months, I am unable to download HD video, therefor 4 stars

The easy youtube video downloader works fast and efficient, withstanding all the attempts of google (youtube) to thwart anything they do. I am happy to wait a little while for another correction of a google-anti-downloaders-action. Well done, and keep it up!
EDIT: (nov 2025) Since the previous rating, the recordings all have green lines across the screen and the video seems less bright, maybe somewhat "dimmed". Although I appreciate the attempts, I sure hope this was noticed and will be solved.

I've tried so many video download add-ons and this is the one i've been the most consistently happy with. The devs for add-ons like these understandably have to play tag with YT all the time, but this developer is one of the faster & more dedicated ones from what I've seen. I'm big into media preservation, but it's a headache chasing add-ons that work so I'm really grateful this one has been so consistent. YT has once again changed how they work so the add-on isn't working at this exact moment, but unlike with a lot of others, I have faith that this add-on will be updated soon, the dev seems really dedicated. I rarely have any problems with this one.

Also I really appreciate how clear the list of formats & file sizes is when I use the pull down menu, and it's not cluttered up with too many no-audio or audio-only options.

By far my favorite YouTube downloader. My only issue right now is the 720p isn't available, but it's happened before and been fixed quickly. Hopefully that will be the case this time because 360p just doesn't cut it.

Really easy to use and valuable addon. Well worth to spend some bucks on for the extra functionalities. My wish for the further development would be to offer also a lower mp3 bitrate for downloading just spoken conversations on YT. To save disk space

Well at least it works well enough ... that's a lot more than other similar add-ons do. However, the button clips the channels name to only the first few characters, or sometimes even to a slight slither of only the first char. That last case makes it difficult to click the channels name when I want to. And this is completely unnecessary bc I don't need a full 'Download as' on the button to remember that it's the download button. Just a single downwards arrow will be enough thank you very much I'm not demented ... yet ... Also, other add-ons prove it's possible to place the button elsewhere or pin it to Firefox' address-/searchbar or even make it draggable (eg look at the popular 'Improve Youtube' add-on). So give me options. give me a checkmark in the options on what the button should be labelled and where the button should be placed.

The Only Problem I've had is if I download YouTube's Own Videos, it will download ALL EXCEPT the Last few seconds then Lockup the Whole down Load Process, and the Movie will NOT Show up, and I have to Restart the Computer, to get the Downloads working again..
