Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
   JobTrack is a Chrome extension developed by Jorge Garrido. Contact: info@optimusrex.com
2. Data stored locally Free & Pro
   The following data is stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local on your device and is never transmitted to any server:

Job applications — title, company, URL, date, status, notes, match score.
CV text — extracted from the file you upload. Processed in-browser for match scoring.
Settings — preferences and subscription status cache.
This data is deleted when you uninstall the extension or clear extension storage from Chrome settings.

1. Data sent to our servers Pro only
   When you use Pro AI features, the following is sent to the JobTrack backend (hosted on Vercel):

CV text (up to 3,000 characters) — used solely to generate a cover letter. Not stored after the request completes.
Job description text (up to 1,500 characters) — used solely to generate a cover letter. Not stored after the request completes.
Installation ID — an anonymous random UUID generated on first install, used to verify your Pro subscription. Not linked to any personal identity.
Cover letter text is generated in-memory and returned to your browser. We do not retain it.

1. Payments
   Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not handle or store card data. Stripe may process your name and email address for billing purposes under their own privacy policy.

We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status in our database, linked to your anonymous installation ID.

1. Third-party services
   Anthropic API — processes CV and job description text to generate cover letters (Pro only). Data is not retained by Anthropic beyond the request. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
   Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
   Vercel — backend hosting. Vercel may log request metadata (IP, timestamp) per their standard infrastructure logging. See Vercel's privacy policy.
2. No tracking or analytics
   JobTrack does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any analytics service. We do not collect browsing history or monitor which job listings you visit.
3. Host website data
   Content scripts run on supported job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, InfoJobs, Glassdoor, Tecnoempleo) to detect Apply button clicks and extract job listing text. We do not read session data, cookies, or personal account information from these sites.
4. Your rights
   Local data: Uninstall the extension or clear storage via Chrome settings (chrome://settings/siteData).
   Backend data: Email info@optimusrex.com to request deletion of your subscription record.
5. Changes to this policy
   Material changes will be noted in the Chrome Web Store update description. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
