    Can you please explain why this add-on needs the permission to accsess my data for all web sites?

    Good question – but we have good reasons:

    1. Mendeley Web Importer needs to read the content of the web page in order to detect document identifiers within it. The extension then looks up metadata for the identifier from Mendeley Catalog.

    2. Mendeley Web Importer automatically follows link redirects in order to be able to locate a full text PDF for the references it detects. Since the PDF may not be hosted on the web page you are looking at, the extension requires permissions to follow the redirects to be able to look at other websites.

    It is not working on some pdf's viewed on firefox. The button don't display anything. For example in https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Peter_Driessen/publication/242097053_Path_Difference_Learning_for_Guitar_Fingering_Problem/links/5460b9d70cf295b5616375b4/Path-Difference-Learning-for-Guitar-Fingering-Problem.pdf

    UPDATE
    Now if I use Mendeley Web Importer on a PDF the following message appear: "For security, Firefox blocks extensions running on PDF files".

    It is a pity that the extension does not work in a browser as good and safe as Firefox. It is time to go back to Chrome again.

    Unable to get sign-in. Every time showing same message "sorry" unable to connect. Poor service.
