Miru — a mindful way to browse the sites that pull you in.
You open YouTube to check one thing. Forty minutes later you're not sure how you got here. Miru doesn't fight that with blocklists and willpower — it just asks you to pause for a breath first, then gives you a quieter version of the site to land in.
Pick how Miru meets you at each site you open:
🌬 Breathe — A short guided breath before the page loads. Nothing is blocked. You just get a moment to notice what you're doing before you do it, then choose: go on, or close the tab.
🌙 Calm — The breath, plus a stripped-down version of the site itself. On YouTube, everything becomes text — no thumbnails, no recommended videos, no comments, no Shorts — while search and the video you're actually watching still work fine. On Instagram, the feed, Reels, and Explore go quiet, but Stories, DMs, and profiles stay usable. Spend more than 15 minutes on a calmed site in one day, and it fades to grayscale for the rest of it.
Also in the extension:
Your data stays yours. Miru doesn't ask for an account, doesn't run analytics, and nothing you do ever leaves your device. It's fully open source under GPL-3.0, so you don't have to take our word for any of that — you can read the code yourself: https://github.com/abb-i/miru

Also in the extension:
- Toolbar focus sessions you can start anytime
- An optional breath at natural stopping points, not just on page load
- A gentle nudge when you've been scrolling longer than you meant to
- Night hours that turn the entire web grayscale, so late-night browsing loses some of its pull
