Version 9.9
Veröffentlicht 30. Mai 2026 – 312,16 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v9.9:- 'Esc' is now more predictable:
Pressing Escape always backs you out one step — close a dialog, cancel what you're doing, clear the search, hide results, deselect a folder — and only closes the window when there's nothing left to back out of. Backing out can no longer accidentally close the window. The Help dialog now spells out exactly what Esc does, in order. - Animations: a simpler way to set the feel.
The Delays settings now start with a single "Timing profile" — Snappy, Standard, or Relaxed — instead of a wall of millisecond boxes. The raw values are still there under "Fine-tune (advanced)" if you want them. Standard matches the current defaults, so nothing changes unless you choose otherwise. - Hold gestures are signposted:
Every button that does something extra when you hold it (Save, Close, the gear, Theme, the QS/QT pill) now says so in its tooltip, and there's a complete "Hold & long-press" list in Help.

- 'Esc' is now more predictable:

UX:
· Under the hood improvements for faster, smoother opening for QBF and Quick.
Internal initialization now runs faster by doing more work in parallel and eliminating redundant data reads.
This is specially noticeable on slower machines with large bookmark libraries.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz
Version 9.7.0
Veröffentlicht 24. Mai 2026 – 302,66 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v9.7:
Bugs fixed:
– Quick popup now reliably remembers which pane you were using.
UX:
– Settings sections reorganized for clarity.
– Importing settings now shows a count of how many were applied, and auto-saves them immediately so there's no risk of losing imported values if the popup closes before you click Save).
New features:
– Export all. A single button in Backup & data exports both your bookmarks and settings at once (with matching timestamps for easy pairing).
– Organized export folders. On first export, QBF asks for the downloads permission. Once granted, all exports are placed in a dated subfolder under your downloads folder (QBF Exports / 2026.05.30 / …). Multiple exports on the same day share the same folder. If you prefer flat files, just decline the permission prompt.
– Settings export now includes verbosity overrides and custom window names.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz

Version 9.5.0
Veröffentlicht 18. Mai 2026 – 302,76 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v9.4:
Bugs fixed:
– Find mode: Pressing Esc while browsing a folder's contents now returns to your search results at the same scroll position, instead of losing your place.
– Quicktab: Arrow keys no longer select invisible rows inside collapsed groups.
– Several UI colours that didn't adapt properly between light and dark themes now use theme-aware variables.
Usabiity improvements:
– Help dialog (?) now documents Quick Save, Quicktab, Find multi-select, field search quoting, and all v9.x Settings features.
– Find mode shows a "N selected" badge when multi-selecting bookmarks with Ctrl+click.
– Name/URL detail panel in Save mode restyled as a compact inline bar instead of a floating popup.
– QS and QT result rows now share identical sizing, spacing, and selection styling for higher consistency.
New features:
– Reset colors to theme button in Settings → Colors. Applies light or dark chip color presets with one click.
– QS pane open preference setting: choose whether the Quick popup always opens in QS, QT, or remembers your last choice.
– Hold-save delay setting: configure how long to hold the Save button before "Save & Stay" triggers (250–1500ms).
– Multi-folder save in Quick Save: Ctrl+click chips or search results to select multiple folders, then save to all at once.
– Chip colour parity: colour customisations from Settings → Colors now apply to Quick Save chips too.
– Quicktab tab caching: switching between QS and QT panes is faster — tabs are cached and updated incrementally.
– Frecency stats: Stats dialog (!) now shows your top 20 most-used folders with a Reset button.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz

Version 9.2.0
Veröffentlicht 15. Mai 2026 – 296,35 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v9.2:
Bugs fixed:
– Opening Stats or Help from Settings no longer closes Settings underneath.
– The Simple ↔ Advanced toggle's blue background now overlaps each label exactly.
– In the Quick popup, the small blue 1/2/3 badges next to QS/QT/QBF are no longer clipped by the pill outline.
– Deleting a bookmark via the path bar's hold-Delete (in QS) now re-checks Firefox after each delete and accurately reflects what's left.
Settings dialog:
– The toolbar path display has been removed (deprecated by use of full path dialog in both QS/QT and full QBF).
– When the QBF window is narrow AND mode emojis are off, the mode pills show a single letter (S, F, T, H) instead of nothing.
– The Home Folder card (the 🏘️ and 📍 emojis) are cleaned up for less decoration and simpler, more focused experience.
– Hold the Save button for ~½ second to "Save & Stay" in Quick modes, mirroring the behavior in QBF.
Quick popup:
– Press-hold either the QS or QT button on the top pane pill for ~½ second to toggle a roomier "Comfort" layout (will be ported over in Settings for visibility).
– Open-tab and closed-tab rows in Quicktab show favicons more reliably, in a slightly larger and sharper display.
– Pressing ↑/↓ in Quicktab no longer auto-scrolls the panel. Selection moves, but the view stays put (less twitchy and more responsive to user's intent).
– Quicktab and QBF Quick popups no longer flash the current tab title before showing the saved bookmark title when you open them. (The background page now pre-resolves the bookmark for the current URL, so the popup reads it instantly.)
Rounded ↔ Rectangular:
– Full final visual sweep: every remaining hardcoded corner radius now respects the Settings → Appearance "Rounded ↔ Rectangular" toggle. The toggle now applies to the Quick modes as well.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz
Version 9.1.0
Veröffentlicht 15. Mai 2026 – 290,15 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v9.1:
Bugs squashed:
– The Save button in Settings no longer appears active when you haven't changed anything. It greys out properly until you actually modify a setting.
– Clicking the last folder in a search result's path now takes you to that exact folder in the tree (not its parent), smoothly scrolling it into view and expanding it.
– Dragging folders in the bookmark tree to reorder them now reliably drops where the blue indicator shows.
– Deeply nested folder trees (more than 20 levels) no longer get cut off.
– The tree resize handle works properly when "Tree auto-fit" is enabled — dragging it overrides auto-fit for the session.
– Pressing Escape while Stats or Help is open above Settings now closes only the top dialog, leaving Settings still open behind it.
– Searching in Settings now finds items from the Advanced sections even when you're in Simple mode.
– Checkboxes in the Keyboard Shortcuts section are now right-aligned, matching all other Settings inputs.
Settings improvements:
– "Verbose" is now called "Advanced" — clearer label for the same functionality.
– Mode emojis are now independent from Simple/Advanced. You can show emojis in Simple mode or hide them in Advanced mode.
– The Simple/Advanced pill is now the same size as the main mode tabs — no more squished appearance.
– Animation speed can go up to 10× (was 2×) and accepts fine decimals like 0.05. Slow-motion fans, go wild.
– The Settings dialog auto-resizes when you toggle between Simple and Advanced modes, or expand/collapse sections. Double-click the bottom edge of Settings to snap it back to the natural height if it ever gets out of shape.
– The Quicktab keyboard shortcut now appears in Settings alongside the other window shortcuts.
– The Rounded/Rectangular corner style now applies to every single UI element — buttons, tags, badges, tree items, search inputs, everything.
Quick popup upgrades:
– The "+" button now sits to the left of the QS/QT pill, so toggling between panes doesn't shift the pill around.
– Open Tabs and Recently Closed groups in Quicktab are now collapsed by default — click to expand, or just start typing to search (groups auto-expand for matches).
– Hold the Save button in Quick Save to save without closing the popup — handy for filing several tabs to the same folder in quick succession.
– Press Alt+1 / Alt+2 / Alt+3 (shown as badges when you hold Alt or Cmd) to instantly switch between QS, QT, and QBF. These shortcuts are fully customizable in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts.
New in Find mode:
– Cmd+click (Mac) / Ctrl+click (Windows) individual bookmarks in search results to build a multi-selection. Then double-click or press Enter to open them all at once in new tabs, or Shift+double-click / Shift+Enter to open them in a new window.
– Bookmarks and folders can't be mixed in a multi-selection — you'll see a friendly message if you try. :)Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz
Version 9.0.0
Veröffentlicht 13. Mai 2026 – 285,73 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v9.0:
· Hello, Quicktab!
QuickTab joins QuickSave. QT searches all open tabs and recently closed ones. Enter switches to a tab, Ctrl+Enter moves it to a new window, Delete closes it. QS and QT now live inside the same Quick dialog, separate from QBF, for quick actions with tabs inside the web browser.
· QS path bar and results fixed:
The path bar no longer collapses when chips or results expand. Results now show three full rows by default instead of one and a half.
· Clicking a result path now opens the folder.
Before, clicking a path segment navigated to the folder row but left it collapsed. Now it opens and shows its contents immediately.
· Blank Folders dialog overhaul:
Non-empty default-named folders can now be included (toggle inside the dialog) — they show content counts, dashed-border delete buttons, and a Library button. Deleting folders with contents requires a second confirmation listing exactly what will go.
· Cleanup tools no longer close Settings:
Duplicate URLs and Blank Folders now stack above the Settings dialog instead of dismissing it.
· Snapshots:
Controls are now right-aligned. A new "Save to disk" toggle writes each snapshot to your downloads folder. When "Include settings" is on, the single HTML file contains both your bookmarks and –QBF settings — import either or both from one file.
· Enter-to-save is now explicit:
Two new Keyboard Shortcuts toggles: QS Enter saves immediately (default on) and QBF Enter selects first (default on, existing two-step behavior). Flip either to change how Enter commits a save.
· UI corner style:
New Appearance setting: Rounded (default) or Rectangular (subtler corners across chips, mode pills, and inputs).
· Tree auto-fit:
The folder tree in Save mode now expands to fill available height automatically. Double-clicking the resize handle snaps to the same size. Toggle in Appearance if you prefer manual control.
Mode emojis stay where you put them. Flipping Simple ↔ Verbose no longer overwrites a mode-emoji setting you changed manually.
· Small fixes:
Section headers (Recent, Quick Links) no longer text-select on double-click. The Drop-to-Remove chip overlay no longer gets stuck after an aborted drag.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz

Version 8.8.0
Veröffentlicht 11. Mai 2026 – 259,62 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v8.8:- Font sizes now use a unified scale (groundwork for future typography adjustments from a single control point).
- Search code shared between QBF and Quick Save (both interfaces now use the same scoring engine)
- Quick Save transitions slightly smoothed
- Animation speed setting covers more UI
- Window names auto-clean

Version 8.7.0
Veröffentlicht 9. Mai 2026 – 259,16 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v8.7:
Bug fixes:
- Clicking and holding on a folder in the tree no longer accidentally starts renaming it. Use F2 to rename — it's intentional and predictable.
- Dragging folders in the tree to reposition them now works much more reliably. The "drop here" zones have been rebalanced so moving a folder above or below a sibling is easier to target.
- When you first install QBF and open the full window, the bookmark tree is now visible immediately instead of hidden. - Clicking the Home button for the first time now tells you how to set it up instead of a confusing short message.
- Quick Save opened via keyboard shortcut is now more reliable — it will always fully load within 3 seconds even if Firefox's background systems are slow to respond.
New capabilities:
- Drag chips to delete: drag any Quick Link or Recent Location chip downward — a red "Drop to remove" zone appears at the bottom of the window. Drop the chip there to remove it. A 5-second undo option appears if you change your mind.
- Bookmark snapshot export: in the Stats dialog, a new "Export Bookmark Snapshot" button saves your entire bookmark library as a standard HTML file (compatible with Firefox's import). Useful for backups before reorganizing.
- Esc works step-by-step in Quick Save: pressing Escape now clears your search text first, then clears your folder selection, then closes — matching the full QBF window behavior.
Visual refinements:
- Updated default colors: chips are now opaque and bold by default with clearer visual distinction between types.
- Toast notifications now use a green background for success messages with improved text contrast.
- Consistent scrollbar width, focus ring glow, and transition timing across all panels and dialogs.
- Consolidated font sizes — fractional half-step sizes merged for cleaner typography.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz
Version 8.6.0
Veröffentlicht 7. Mai 2026 – 256,96 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v8.6:- Consistent status text: both the main window and Quick Save now show "Bookmarked" for pages already saved (previously for QBF: "Already bookmarked").
- Bottom toolbar: the Settings, Help, and Stats icons now stay visible at all times, centered in the toolbar across every mode. Icons are now also slightly bigger and easier to tap.
- Modes switching (pill): the Simple/Advanced toggle in Settings and the in-mode filter pills (All, Folders Only, etc.) are now taller and more comfortably spaced. They also match the main mode-switching pill proportions.
- Unified keyboard shortcut hints: filter and dock button key-hints now appear in the same blue accent style as the mode pill hints when you hold Alt/Option, instead of the previous grey.
- Button corners unified: all buttons throughout Settings, dialogs, and toolbars now share a consistent corner radius for a cohesive feel.
- Settings dialog tightened: less whitespace between sections, tighter padding around the edges, and the search bar feels more integrated. Collapsed sections take up less vertical space.
- History mode layout: "Now" and "Load more" buttons are now side by side in a single row instead of stacked in separate sections.
- Search bar polish: the "?" help button is now flush-right at the edge of the search bar.
- Less dead space: reduced the gap above the first entry under the top toolbar across all modes.
- Apple-style chip hover: folder chips now lift slightly upward with a soft shadow on hover, instead of only changing background color.
- Color picker auto-close: on macOS, clicking back into the Settings dialog now automatically dismisses the native color picker — no need to close it manually.
- Softer typography: dialog titles use a lighter font weight for a more refined, less heavy appearance.

Version 8.5.0
Veröffentlicht 5. Mai 2026 – 256,69 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v8.5:
Bug fixes:
- Clicking Undo after clearing chips now properly restores them.
- Keyboard shortcut badges on mode buttons no longer get cut off at the bottom.
- On macOS, the tree scrollbar no longer overlaps folder pin icons.
- Switching from QBF to QuickSave (and vice versa) using keyboard shortcuts now works seamlessly — no need to manually close either window first.
- Notification text is now easy to read in both Day and Night modes.
- Pressing Cmd (⌘) on Mac now shows keyboard shortcut hints, just like Option.
- Closed Tabs in History mode now loads more reliably, with automatic retry if Firefox is slow to provide the data.
- The Settings Save button is now clearly greyed out when no changes have been made.
Improvements:
- The results panel drag handle now proportionally shrinks the tree when you drag it down, and can expand further when the tree is hidden.
- The URL-as-Tab keyboard shortcut now works even when QBF isn't open — it launches QBF in Find mode with URL-as-Tab ready to go.
- On Mac, Cmd+letter shortcuts now work for filter pills (All, Folders, Bookmarks, URL) — not just Option+letter.
- Keyboard shortcut badges have a fresh look: accent-colored with a subtle pop-in animation.
- The toolbar icon save animation now features a smooth directional wipe effect.
- Simple/Advanced settings toggle is now a sleek sliding pill — tap either option to switch.
- Pressing and holding the Save button in Settings (600ms) saves your changes and collapses all sections for a clean slate.
- Saving Settings on macOS now automatically closes the color picker if it's open.
UX:
The entire Settings dialog has been polished: softer corners, refined shadows, tinted section headers, hover highlights on rows, a warm Home Folder card, and more tactile buttons throughout — designed to feel pleasant and inviting to explore. :-)Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz
Version 8.4.0
Veröffentlicht 1. Mai 2026 – 254,33 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v8.4:
New features:
- Safety confirmations: chip 'Clear' buttons now require a two-step confirmation to prevent accidental deletion.
- Enhanced navigation: Shift+click the toolbar icon to open the full QBF interface directly.
- Search guide: Click the "?" icon in the search bar for a quick reference on search syntax.
- Link bookmarking: right-click any link in a web page to save it instantly with pre-filled details.
- Rename Windows: double-click window names in Tabs mode to set custom, persistent labels.
- Tab management: The path bar now shows a breakdown of saved versus total selected tabs.
- Touch support: Added long-press functionality to trigger tooltips on touch devices.
Improvements & fixes:
- UI performance: Eliminated visual flickering in the path bar and history panel.

Version 8.3.0
Veröffentlicht 1. Mai 2026 – 248,63 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v8.3:
Added:
- Configurable global shortcuts. Settings now has a "Window & Quicksave shortcuts" section where you can change the three browser-level shortcuts (open/close QBF window, open/close Quicksave popup, open QBF in URL-as-Tab mode). Click a binding to open a live recorder; hold the keys you want and click Apply.
- Conflict detection on shortcuts. The recorder shows a red/yellow/green status as you press, comparing your combo against a curated list of OS-native and Firefox-native shortcuts. Mac and Windows have separate catalogs.
- Suggested shortcut alternatives. When a conflict is detected, two or three alternatives are offered as click-to-apply pills, biased toward sharing modifiers with what you tried.
- OS-aware key glyphs. Mac shows ⌘ ⌥ ⌃ ⇧; Windows shows Ctrl/Alt/Shift. Detected automatically.
- Blank folders tool. Settings → Tools → Scan… finds every folder named "New folder" / "New Folder N" / empty across your library and shows them in a dialog where you can rename or delete in batch.
- Multi-tab save title fetching. When saving multiple tabs at once, any tab whose title is missing or matches its URL gets a real page-title fetch in parallel before the bookmarks are created.
Changed:
- Settings → Colors → CHIPS reordered to follow the QBF UI: Suggested → Recent Locations → Home → Quick Links → Active/Selected. Previously Quick Links came first.
- Settings dialog now reflows internally when dragged narrow — long row labels wrap onto their own line so values stay readable.
- Help dialog text updated to point new users to Settings for shortcut reconfiguration (was "configurable in about:addons").
Fixed:
- Tab key inside Settings. Plain Tab and Shift+Tab now stay inside the Settings dialog instead of jumping to QBF elements behind it. Affects both Windows and macOS.
- Esc consistency for chip delete. Pressing Del on a chip then Esc to cancel no longer interferes with the double-Esc window-close timer. Rapid Esc-Esc after dismissing chip pending-delete will not unexpectedly close the window.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz
Version 8.2.0
Veröffentlicht 1. Mai 2026 – 237,69 KBFunktioniert mit firefox 142.0 und höherChangelog, v8.2:
Fixes:
- Settings panel no longer stays semi-transparent after picking a color. Clicking anywhere in the dialog clears it immediately.
Enhancements:
Suggested folders now look beyond the domain — QBF reads keywords from the URL path and page title to find more relevant folder suggestions.
Interface:
- Settings window auto-sizes to its contents — expands when you open a section, shrinks when you close one, up to 80% of screen height.
- Keyboard shortcut hints on filter pills are no longer clipped — they now sit visibly above the pill edge when you hold Alt / Option.
- History time-of-day groups (Morning, Afternoon, Night) are more clearly nested under their day, better aligned, and more visible in dark mode.
- "Settings saved" and other status notifications now appear in a calm grey tone. Green is reserved for bookmark saves.
- Notification text is brighter in dark mode — easier to read at a glance.
- Settings › Colors › Chips is now organized by chip type — Quick Links, Recent, Home, Suggested, Active — so each type's background, border, and text colors sit together.
- Right-clicking the toolbar icon shows a colored icon matching the current page's bookmark status — blue for unsaved, green for saved, purple for duplicate.
Mac shortcuts:
- Cmd+Ctrl+D opens the full QBF window. Cmd+Ctrl+S opens Quick Save.
- Cmd+1/2/3/4 switches modes (Save, Find, Tabs, History), alongside the existing Option+1/2/3/4.
- Cmd+N creates a new folder in the tree.Quelltext steht unter der MIT-Lizenz
