    • Compiled this full version history into CHANGELOG.md, pulled from the official Firefox Add-ons release notes, the in-app changelog data, and git history
    • Overhauled the "What's New" update-notification system:
    • Release notes now live in changelog.json instead of a hardcoded object in content.js that had gone stale since v1.0.40 and was silently showing the wrong notes on every release since
    • An already-open SpicyChat tab now shows the correct notes immediately when the extension updates, instead of only after a manual page refresh
    • Added a permanent "What's New" viewer (Settings → Data tab, and the toolbar popup) so release notes can be revisited instead of only being shown once
    • The update notification toast now also has a "View Changelog" button that jumps straight into that viewer, instead of only being reachable from Settings or the toolbar popup afterward
    • Fixed the Settings modal's version number, which was hardcoded and never reflected the actual installed version
    • A version missing from changelog.json now shows an honest "not published yet" placeholder instead of confidently-wrong stale bullets
    • build-spicychat.sh now identifies the Firefox (MV2) vs Chrome (MV3) manifest by content (manifest_version, cross-checked against browser_specific_settings.gecko) instead of trusting filenames, so it still produces correct release zips even if the dev-mode manifest swap was left in place
    • Fixed the WYSIWYG composer permanently duplicating text when a Grammarly (or similar) suggestion was accepted — the debounced live-formatting re-render only reset its timer on the composer's own input events, so Grammarly's insert-then-remove suggestion flow (the removal step doesn't fire input) could get caught mid-edit and bake the transient duplicate in permanently. The re-render now resets on any DOM edit to the composer, not just its own input events
    • Fixed the "remove editor before send" cleanup (narrow-window/iOS send path) checking editor._wysiwygResizeObserver/_wysiwygMutationObserver/_wysiwygValueCheckInterval, which are actually stored on textarea — the guards were always false, so those observers/intervals never actually got disconnected before the editor was removed from the DOM

    Light/Dark Mode fixes
    • Fixed the character info bar and Sidebar Layout's Generation Settings modal being forced dark regardless of the active theme
    • Fixed the Custom Style settings panel having no light-mode colors at all (text was unreadable)
    • Custom Style now supports independent Light and Dark color profiles with a switch in the settings panel, instead of one shared color set that had to compromise between themes
    • Custom Style's own Light Mode defaults now match SpicyChat's real native colors — enabling it with nothing customized is a visual no-op instead of introducing made-up colors
    • Fixed WYSIWYG composer text rendering invisible (white-on-white) in Light Mode whenever neither Custom Style nor Classic Style was active

    WYSIWYG composer stability
    • Fixed the composer permanently losing cursor movement and syntax highlighting after starting a new chat on the same page (two separate causes: a stuck resize-lock flag, and a stale message-editor registry entry)

    Layout fixes
    • Fixed a gap between the chat scrollbar and the pinned Generation Settings/Memories sidebar panel — the scrollbar now sits flush against it

    Sync fixes
    • Fixed Google Drive "Settings" sync silently excluding two Layout toggles (Selection Checkboxes on Right Side, Square Message Box Edges) due to a key-name mismatch in the sync code
    • Legacy (pre-dual-theme) saved custom styles now migrate correctly into the Dark profile only, instead of also overwriting Light with colors that were never meant for a light background

    Other
    • Fixed "Chat Name in Title" no longer updating the browser tab title, after SpicyChat changed its own page-title format
    • Hid the "Hide Creator Name" setting from the UI — the group-chat feature it was built to hide no longer exists on SpicyChat's side, so it wasn't doing what its label promised. Code is kept intact, not removed, in case that UI returns
