Youwee Download Companion handles the active page URL, the download options selected by the user, local page-layout information needed to place the optional floating button, and local interface preferences.

The active URL and selected options are transferred only after an explicit user action to the Youwee desktop application installed on the same computer through the operating system's youwee:// protocol handler. The extension does not send browsing data to developer-operated analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It does not sell or share user data for advertising.

The extension does not read browser cookies, passwords, form entries, payment details, or private messages. It stores only interface preferences in browser extension storage and does not retain a browsing-history database or submitted URLs.

Users can disable the floating button, decline the prompt to open Youwee, remove the extension, or clear download history from the desktop application.
