About this extension
AddFurigana adds furigana readings above Japanese text on web pages for educational purposes. It runs locally in Firefox using bundled Kuromoji.js and MeCab-IPADIC dictionary data, with no remote API and no page text sent to a server.
Use it to make Japanese reading practice more approachable on ordinary web pages. AddFurigana can make mistakes: unknown names, rare words, ambiguous readings, or dictionary limitations may produce missing or incorrect furigana. The toolbar panel lets you enable or disable annotations and re-scan the current page when needed.
