    Version 0.7.0

    Released Jun 12, 2026 - 24.45 KB
Works with firefox 58.0 and later
    Added
    • Add layout-aware Ambilight color sampling for video frames.
    • Add straight-boundary detection to better identify the real video content area.
    • Add improved letterbox and pillarbox handling before edge color extraction.
    • Add detection for inset sponsor/ad panels on the right and bottom edges.
    • Add support for L-shaped right + bottom sponsor placements, where live content is shrunk and ads occupy the remaining frame area.
    • Add dominant-hue layout-panel validation so ad backgrounds with logos, QR codes, text, gradients, or product images can still be detected.

    Changed
    • Increase video color sampling resolution from 80x45 to 160x90 for more accurate boundary and region detection.
    • Improve right/bottom edge color selection so sponsor/ad panels are less likely to dominate Ambilight colors.
    • Update boundary detection to prefer the first valid content/ad boundary instead of the strongest internal ad edge.
    • Refine content-bound detection before calculating edgeColors.top, edgeColors.right, edgeColors.bottom, edgeColors.left, and edgeColors.center.
    • Make layout-panel detection more tolerant of real-world ad creatives with non-flat details.

    Fixed
    • Fix cases where live content with right-side or bottom sponsor placements could cause Ambilight colors to be dominated by the ad background.
    • Fix L-shaped sponsor layouts where both right and bottom ad regions could remain inside the sampled content area.
    • Improve handling of non-black or visually complex letterbox/pillarbox regions.
