About this extension
JSON Bonsai turns raw JSON responses into a fast, interactive viewer — prune, shape, and navigate even giant payloads.
Interactive tree — collapse to any depth with one keystroke (1–8, 0 for all), expand/collapse whole subtrees, copy any node's value
JMESPath queries — filter and reshape the document live, e.g. [?postId == \1
Instant search — find keys, values, and paths across the whole document, even in collapsed branches
Path tracking — hover any property to see its full JSON path, pin it, copy it
Four views — interactive tree, pretty-printed, raw, and an inferred JSON Schema
base16 theming — 13 bundled themes (Catppuccin, Dracula, Nord, Gruvbox, Solarized, OneDark, Tokyo Night, GitHub, Monokai) plus paste-in support for any of ~290 community base16
schemes, or your own. Auto mode follows your OS with a separate dark and light pick.
Built for big JSON — web-worker search indexing and progressive rendering keep thousand-node documents smooth
Private by design — everything runs locally in your browser; no data ever leaves the page
