About this extension
One click on the toolbar button saves the current page as a PDF. The Save dialog opens with the filename already filled in from the page title and date, so saving is click, Enter, done.
This extension exists because existing options were unclear about what they collect or asked for more permissions than the job needs. It was built to do one thing with the minimum access Firefox allows. Absolutely no data is collected: no network requests, no analytics, no third party code. The source is a few hundred lines of plain JavaScript, open at https://github.com/JonGaydos/firefox-print-pdf.
Features:
Toolbar button, Ctrl+Shift+F, and right-click menu, including on the tab strip
Filename builder: date, time, or site address, before or after the title, or a fully custom template
Reader View save for clean article text when a site's print layout is broken
Paper size (Letter, Legal, A4), margins, orientation, optional headers and footers
Shift+click or Alt+Shift+F opens Firefox's full print dialog for one-off adjustments
Permissions, all of them: activeTab (the current tab's title for the filename, only when you invoke it), storage (your settings), menus (the right-click items). Nothing else, and it stays that way.
