Roles Browser Extension Privacy Policy
Effective July 27, 2026
The Roles browser extension fills job application forms with information you have reviewed in Roles. It acts only when you start a fill and always stops before the final application submission.
Information the extension handles
The extension may handle:Application information you reviewed in Roles, such as your name, contact details, work history, answers to application questions, and other form values.
Resume and cover-letter files you chose for the application.
Website content needed to fill the form, such as the application URL, field labels, field types, required status, and available select options.
How information is used
The extension uses this information only to identify and fill fields on the employer or applicant-tracking-system form you selected. Processing occurs in your browser. The extension does not independently send application data or browsing activity to the Roles backend, and it does not collect analytics or telemetry from ordinary website visits.
Sharing and application websites
When you start a fill, the extension places the reviewed information into the chosen employer or applicant-tracking-system form. Those websites may process information as it is entered, even before submission, according to their own privacy policies. The extension does not sell application data, share it for advertising, or use it to build a browsing profile.
Storage and retention
The extension does not persist application values, resumes, or cover letters in extension storage. Values and files are held only as needed in browser memory to complete the user-requested fill. Information entered into an employer form remains subject to that website's behavior and policies.
Browser permissions
The extension requests access to Roles, supported applicant-tracking systems, and HTTPS employer websites so it can locate and fill the application selected by the user. Tab access is used to open application forms, and navigation access is used to locate the correct form frame. The extension does not monitor or transmit the user's general browsing activity.
Your control
Filling starts only after a user action in Roles. You can review or edit every populated value, remove attached files, clear the form, close the application, or uninstall the extension. The extension does not click the final submit button.
Limited use
Roles' use and transfer of information received through browser extension APIs is limited to providing and improving the extension's user-facing form-filling functionality and complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the extension changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
