Amrita AttendEase is a Chrome extension designed to help Amrita University students track their attendance and calculate safe bunking limits. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

• Attendance Data Only: Course codes, attendance percentages, present/absent counts, and total classes from your Amrita student portal
• No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, student IDs, or any personally identifiable information
• No Authentication Data: We do not access or store your login credentials

How We Collect Data

• Data is automatically scraped from the official Amrita attendance page (students.amrita.edu/client/class-attendance) when you visit it
• The extension only reads publicly visible attendance information already displayed on your screen

• Calculate how many classes you can safely skip while maintaining 75% attendance
• Display attendance status (Safe/Warning/Danger) for each subject
• Store calculations locally on your device for quick access

• We do not track your browsing activity outside the attendance page

Data Storage

Local Storage Only

• All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API
• Data never leaves your computer
• No cloud storage or external databases are used

Data Retention

• Data is automatically updated when you visit the attendance page
• You can clear all stored data by removing the extension
• No data persists after uninstallation

Permissions Used

• Required to read attendance data from the active Amrita portal tab
• Only accesses the attendance page when you're viewing it

• Used to save attendance calculations locally on your device
• Enables quick access to your data without re-scraping the page

• Allows communication between the extension popup and the attendance page
• Does not access content from other tabs

Host Permission (students.amrita.edu)

• Only accesses the official Amrita student portal
• Limited to attendance-related pages only

Security

• All processing happens locally on your device

• Extension code is static and doesn't download additional scripts
