youtubedownloadxtension adds a Download button under the player on YouTube watch pages. Clicking it sends the video to a small local desktop app (installed separately from https://github.com/erickson558/youtubedownloadxtension), which asks where to save it and downloads it with yt-dlp. Every download prompts for a destination folder — nothing is ever auto-saved. This tool is for downloading content you have the right to save for personal, offline use; downloading from a platform can still violate that platform's own Terms of Service even when technically possible, and you are solely responsible for how you use this tool.
