Latest version
Version 1.4
Released 23 Jul 2026 - 43.49 kBWorks with firefox 58.0 and laterNew:
- Unread email reminders — Browsy now checks your inbox in the background and shows a red ! badge on the pet when there's unread mail, so you don't have to open Gmail to know. Toggle it on/off from the Gmail menu; the badge clears once you check in.
- Single pet instance — the pet now shows in only the tab you're actively viewing, instead of a separate copy on every open tab. Its position stays in sync everywhere, so it's always where you left it.
Fixed:
- Gmail account mix-up on permission upgrade — enabling "mark as read" (or a token refresh) could silently re-authenticate against a different signed-in Google account than the one you connected, causing Browsy to read one account's inbox while marking another account's emails read. Browsy now pins re-auth to your connected account and rejects the token if a mismatched account is selected.Source code released under All Rights Reserved

Smarter Gmail Summaries
The Gmail daily summary is now significantly more accurate. Emails are pre-classified before being sent to Claude — job postings (LinkedIn, hiring alerts) and newsletters (TLDR, Morning Brew, Substack, etc.) are identified using a keyword and sender-domain ruleset. Newsletters have their full body fetched and summarised individually, so you get actual content instead of just a subject line. Job postings are grouped into their own section.
Paginated Summary View
The generated summary is now presented as a multi-page flipbook rather than a single scrollable block. Navigate between pages with ◀ ▶ arrows — Page 1 shows the overview, Page 2 your to-do list, and subsequent pages cover each newsletter in detail. Previous summaries are saved and can be reopened instantly without regenerating.
Mark Emails as Read
A new toggle — Mark emails as read? — sits in the Gmail menu. When enabled, all emails included in the daily summary are automatically marked as read in Gmail upon generation. Enabling this prompts a one-time re-authorisation to grant write access; the preference persists across sessions.Source code released under All Rights Reserved
