What's new since 2.5.19

• Sign-in. If the CATS sign-in page tries to open inside the terminal frame, where Firefox will not show it (the "login.microsoftonline.com will not allow Firefox to display the page" message), the tool sends the whole tab to the CATS front door so you can sign in there. Never while a pull is running, and at most a few times per tab. When you sign in with the Log in button and CATS shows a bulletin, it stays on screen for you to read; press ENTER on it when you are done and the sign-in finishes on its own.
• District. If CATS is asking for your district before it will show the menu (the DISTRICT box at the top of the menu comes back empty after some screens), the tool puts your district back on its own from the last menu it saw and carries on. If it has never seen your district, it stops and says which two boxes to fill and to press Start again. A pull that fails before it reads anything now says so and hands the Start button back.
• Pulls that stop early or say the wrong thing. A pull notices every way CATS can sign you out, including the plain SIGN ON screen, and stops instead of banking empty results. A run reports how it ended exactly once, and the side panel says it in words instead of null. The in-page panel gets its log back after a reload. A board name you typed is still there when you return. Lists past the first thousand tickets are no longer re-read from the top. One date rule everywhere, so a stray time cannot shift a ticket into the wrong year. If the event log has to drop an entry it says so.
• A round of small fixes. The Log in button waits while a pull owns the terminal and ignores a double click. Long sessions no longer grow heavier with every screen change. A CPKC employee is no longer asked for a PIN that only CN issues. Date boxes match the dark dialogs. Names in the scrolling list no longer slide under the pinned header. One terminal outage leaves one record on the server instead of several. The warning about your hand-typed trips says exactly what will happen to them. The end-of-list message E123-1 is recognised. Find pools is one shared piece of code for both panels.

What's new since 2.5.19

• The sign-in check can no longer run away. One install was found asking the site whether it was still signed in dozens of times a second, enough to slow the site for everyone for a moment. The check now shares one answer among everything that asks at the same time and keeps it for a few seconds before asking again, so a busy moment costs the site one request instead of a hundred.
• The activity row now adds up. Processed counts the tickets actually read and never goes past the list total, the time remaining clears when the pull ends instead of lingering after Done, Added means one thing on the finished row (tickets stored for the first time in this pull), and the Done line says how many tickets were read rather than calling them created.
• If a date box on the list screen gets changed while the list is being read (stray typing into the terminal window, for example) and the terminal answers INVALID DATE, the pull now stops with a clear message instead of reporting a list it never finished.
• An employee number with nothing to list in the date window is now recorded as done with nothing found, provided the list screen names that employee, instead of being treated as a lost connection and retried three times.
• A search that the terminal answered by timeslip number, because a leftover number was still in that box, is now caught: the box is cleared and the date search is sent again.
• When the terminal freezes on one screen, the tool notices after three identical reads and reloads the terminal and signs back in on its own instead of pressing the same key for hours.

What's new since 2.5.11

• Pull your whole history: pick All years and every ticket files under its own year, however many years the pull crosses. A date the terminal cannot make sense of is left unfiled rather than guessed.
• The tool now reads every column of the terminal's ticket list instead of a few. It notices a change to any of them, the pay figure especially, which can move without the status letter changing, and re-reads just the tickets that changed on your next pull.
• A ticket whose one-letter state moved, or whose adjusted mark appeared, is re-read on your next pull. Before this a ticket was read once and never looked at again, so anything that happened to it later never made it into your records.
• The red recording notice now sits along the bottom of the screen instead of the top, so it no longer covers the header and the boxes you are typing into.
• Minimizing the panel no longer leaves an invisible patch where it used to be that catches your clicks. When the panel starts up minimized after you reload the page, clicks pass through to the terminal underneath again.
• A diagnostic log line no longer records an employee number where it was not needed. Your saved records are unchanged.

Versions 2.5.18 and 2.5.19 only changed the Windows installer used by the Chrome build. Nothing in them affects Firefox.

This version rolls up several months of fixes and improvements. Scraping is faster: screens that scroll sideways are read in two passes instead of six, empty screens are read once instead of scrolled through, and long jobs no longer stall silently when the terminal is slow to answer. Messages are more honest: a connection problem is reported as a connection problem instead of "no tickets found", a stopped job is never called finished, and update notices now reach you whenever you are signed in. The Settings button opens the extension's own settings page. Saved sign-in details are optional, stored only on this device, tidied of stray spaces, and truly removed when you clear them. The separate VPN password is gone: signing in no longer goes through that portal, so the extension no longer asks for it, stores it, or keeps any old copy.

A large update rolling up every improvement since the last Firefox release. Highlight:

• Follows CN's move of the CATS site to its new address (cats.cn.ca), so the on-page panel appears on the new site.

This is a large update. The listed version here was well behind the
current release, so this covers everything since then.

Reliability on long runs
- Long runs no longer stall when the display goes to sleep. The screen is
held on for the length of a run, because a screen that is off cannot be
photographed.
- An interrupted pull now asks before it takes over again, with a short
countdown showing how much is left, instead of quietly signing back in
and driving the terminal on its own.
- An interrupted pull survives a browser restart or an extension update
without losing its place, and picks up where it left off.
- Stop works whenever something is running, including on a run that
restarted itself after a dropped session.
- Each screen is read only once it has finished drawing, which fixes the
occasional wrong menu turn or pull that ended early on a slow terminal.

Complete records
- Every page of the claim validation screen is captured, along with the
scrolled right-hand view of each page, so a long claim is saved in full.
- The miscellaneous claims screen is now captured on every working ticket,
even when the terminal shows nothing on it. Red and blue print the same
shade on a black-and-white printer, so a blank page and a missing page
used to look identical to whoever read the file.
- A one-click catch-up button re-pulls tickets that are still missing a
saved screen.
- If a screenshot cannot be taken, the run stops and says why rather than
carrying on and saving tickets with pictures missing.

Booked-rest check
- Stop now actually stops it, and it reports progress as it goes.
- It finds the right row on the work history screen, and where the same
train ran on more than one day and it cannot tell which trip you mean,
it leaves that one for you instead of guessing.
- A trip it cannot place no longer stalls the rest of the check.

Privacy
- Crew names, employee numbers and anything typed into a field are removed
on your own computer before any screen is shared for diagnostics.
- Only the terminal screens themselves are ever shared. The sign-in screen
is never captured.
- Turning screen sharing off in your profile stops your computer sending
anything, including whatever it had already saved up.

Big catch-up release. MealCalc is now TicketForge (ticketforge.ca) -- same tool, new name. This listing continues to work; the extension will also point you at the main "TicketForge CATS Scraper" listing, which gets updates first.

What's new since 2.2.156:

RELIABILITY
- CATS navigation was reworked to confirm every screen it lands on and retry when it lands wrong, so pulls work reliably on big terminals, on terminals that are not your home, and across several pools in one run.
- If CATS drops your session mid-scrape, the scraper logs back in and keeps going on its own; a dropped member is re-pulled, never skipped.
- Long pulls save progress to the server continuously, so an interrupted run keeps what it finished.
- Re-pulling pools you mostly have is far faster and more accurate, including yard and mixed pools, and rare row formats (VIA passenger trains, standalone layover codes) now read correctly.
- A pool that finishes now says it is verifying with the server instead of sitting silent, and a pool with no assignments in your date range ends cleanly instead of looking like an error.
- Screens captured before a crew tied up now count as gaps and get re-pulled later with their real off-duty times.
- The trip discovery walk with no pool selected now finishes cleanly instead of paging endlessly.
- Fixed a bug where the side panel or in-page window could load blank.

SIGN-IN AND PRIVACY
- Stay signed in: after you log in once, the scraper keeps you signed in to the site and reconnects on its own; you can save your login from Settings or the panel, and Clear All wipes it.
- Sign-in is recognized even when your account lands on the main terminal menu after login.
- The walkthrough recorder never records anything you type on the CATS sign-on screen.

YEAR PICKER AND GAP FILLING
- Year buttons pull exactly the year you pick, plus an "All years" button for your full history in one go.
- Each year shows a check mark when complete, or a count of what is still missing, for pools and your own tickets.
- "Fill gaps" pulls just the missing assignments; one click can fill every pool at your terminal, and afterwards the year buttons light up everything the fill covered.

ROSTER AND POOLS
- "Scrape all road members" walks your whole roster from the Action dropdown, with a start-from picker, automatic resume of interrupted walks, and per-member gap badges.
- Choosing pools is now a set of small cards with checkboxes; cards fill in automatically from your team's shared pool list, and pools you find sync to your teammates.
- The scraper remembers each terminal's pools, switches terminals automatically, and "Find pools" is much faster and resumes where you or a teammate left off.

GRIEVANCE EVIDENCE
- Ticket pulls now capture the claim-validation screen as a real screenshot (plus its scrolled second page when one exists), so grievance evidence packages show the authentic screen instead of a text rendering.

• Self-service history pulls: capture your own CATS work history and assignment details straight from the terminal, with a Fast or In-depth option.
• Screenshots: each capture now saves a picture of every CATS screen (including crew / PSTS17B screens) privately to your account, alongside the text, so you have a visual record.
• Faster, more reliable pulls: they now page through your whole selected date range, continue the instant each screen finishes loading, and resume where they left off instead of restarting. Live counts (Added / Skipped / Dupes / Errors)
show progress as it runs.
• Better session recovery: if the CATS session drops during a long run, the scraper reloads and signs back in quickly instead of stalling.
• Reworked controls: open or close the scraper from the toolbar icon (Widget / Sidebar / Off), plus a small reopen dot on the CATS screen, a cleaner in-screen widget, and a tidier Action menu.
• Smarter navigation: reads CATS's own on-screen status messages (end of file, record not available, and more) to move through screens accurately, plus support for the new CATS host.
• Numerous reliability and bug fixes.

After updating, reload the extension and re-run your pull.

This update improves reliability and tidies up the in-app dialogs:

• Firefox stability: if your CATS session drops in the middle of a scrape, the terminal's own "Session closed" pop-up no longer freezes the scraper. It now logs back in and continues on its own.

• The scraper's own questions and confirmations (such as "Scrape all road members", "Discover trips", "Employee history query", and starting a scrape) now appear inside the scraper panel instead of as browser pop-ups labelled with the CATS site address. Same prompts and answers, just part of the tool now.

This brings the MealCalc scraper up to date with the current release. The app was renamed from MealCalc to TicketForge: mealcalc.tech now redirects to ticketforge.ca, and you sign in with the same account.

Included since the older version:
- CN CATS ticket scraping with automatic upload to your account
- CPKC terminal support
- A floating F1 to F12 key bar and clickable menu overlays on the terminal
- Numerous reliability and session-recovery fixes

You may see a banner in the panel suggesting you reinstall from the main "TicketForge CATS Scraper" listing. That is optional, but it points future updates at the current listing.

v2.1.52 — Settings shortcut.

The login / credentials settings page (PSTS Employee ID, PIN, VPN password) used to be reachable only through right-click on the toolbar icon, or through a gear button in CN's F-key bar. CPKC users had no obvious way to find it.

This version adds two shortcuts to that same settings page:
• A small ⚙ button in the panel header, between the Help button and the minimize button. Visible on both CN and CPKC.
• A "⚙ Settings (login info)" button in the toolbar popup, below "Reset Widget".

No change to what's stored or how it's stored, just easier to find.

v2.1.51 — Republished build of the v2.1.51 source under this legacy listing.

Fix in this version: when a scrape finished, the "View ticket browser →" link in the end-of-scrape summary always opened the current calendar year instead of the year you actually scraped. Now the link carries the scraped year through.

Heads up: this is the legacy MealCalc-branded listing. The active development listing has moved to the new TicketForge name and you're encouraged to switch over when convenient. The extension shows an in-app banner walking you through the one-time reinstall.

v2.1.47 brings this listing up to parity with the current TicketForge CATS and CMA Scraper extension. The two listings are being consolidated -- when convenient, please install "TicketForge CATS and CMA Scraper" from AMO and uninstall this one. The extension shows a one-time banner inside the floating panel with a direct link to the new listing. Nothing breaks if you stay here for now: same scraping functionality, same permissions, same data handling. Update is recommended.

v1.9.9.7
- Cosmetic admin log fix. The [X/Y] ticket progress counter now stays in sync during verification catchup. Previously, when bulk Phase B broke out early and targeted mode picked up the missed tickets, the counter would reset to [1/Y] and then the timeslip-search fallback would freeze at whatever the last bulk index was. No scrape data was affected (trips, meals, and ticket counts were always correct), only the admin activity log display was confusing during audits.

v1.9.9.6
- Fixed a screen-advance race in Phase B. The scraper would sometimes press F10 to move to the next ticket, read the screen before PSTS had actually re-rendered, and upload the previous ticket a second time. This showed up as repeated rows in the scrape log, or on a re-scrape of an already-populated year, a flood of blank "non-working" entries. The scraper now verifies the screen text actually changed before processing the next ticket, retries a few times on a stale read, and skips forward to the next page if it truly cannot advance. No data was being corrupted before (server dedup caught every doubled write), but scrapes were doing 2x server work on re-runs and the activity log was 2-4x noisier.

v1.9.9.5
- Fixed a race where fast-clicking Start (or having two panels both fire Start) could spawn two parallel scrape loops on the same PSTS tab. Every ticket was getting uploaded twice. Server dedup caught the writes so no data was corrupted, but scrapes were doing 2x the server work. The scrape slot is now claimed atomically before any async work, so the second click gets a clean "already scraping" rejection.

v1.9.9.4
- Fixed live scrape progress counters that were stuck on 0 in the status widget
- Tightened train-ID parser to reject malformed short tokens (e.g. "N3", "N6") that were showing up as bad rows in the skipped list
- Cleaner handling of CSRF token sync when the server rotates your session mid-scrape (e.g. after logging into mealcalc.tech in another tab) — the extension now silently re-syncs instead of logging a warning

v1.9.9.3 — Bug fix

Fixed: on the CATS login screen, the floating F-key bar could cover
error messages (e.g. "Invalid password") that appear above the OK
button. The bar is now anchored to the top of the OK button on every
screen, so it stays low on the page and any prompts or error messages
above the OK button row remain fully visible.
