Subshack is a Substack analytics and growth extension for writers and newsletter creators. It combines Notes analytics, article statistics, subscriber insights, actionable profile audits, conversation CRM, campaigns and Welcome messages in one workspace.

It works with the Substack account already signed in to your browser. No separate Subshack sign-up or password is required to start.

Today turns your data into a short, prioritized list of useful actions:

• Conversations that need a reply
• Follow-ups due today
• Prepared messages waiting for review
• Profile, Note or article improvements
• Readers worth answering
• Relationship-building sessions based on observed interactions

Each action explains why it appears and opens the relevant destination directly. Nothing is sent from the Today screen.


Organize private Substack conversations by what they actually need:

• Needs reply
• Open conversation
• Waiting for them
• Resolved
• Scheduled follow-up
• Follow-up due
• Asked to stop

A conversation appears in “Waiting for them” only when your latest message explicitly requested a reply or action. Thank-yous, acknowledgements and completed exchanges are classified as resolved instead of remaining incorrectly open.

Follow-ups have a dedicated dated agenda and return to Today only when they become due.


A compact assistant appears beside the Substack conversation you are already reading.

Depending on the data available, it can show:

• Pending commitments and the next scheduled action

You can also:

• Add or edit a private CRM note stored only on your device
• Schedule, reschedule or complete a follow-up

Subshack never automatically clicks Substack’s native Subscribe, Follow or Recommend buttons.


Create controlled outreach from your own Substack account:

A campaign starts only when you press Start sending. Welcome messages remain drafts unless you explicitly enable automatic sending.

Messages are sent one at a time and remain subject to their delays, quiet hours, exclusions and daily limits. Everything can be paused.

Subshack never publishes a Note, article or restack, and never follows, likes, recommends or subscribes on your behalf.


Direct messages and Welcome messages use separate safety budgets:

• Free: up to 20 direct or campaign DMs per day
• Growth and Pro: up to 30 direct or campaign DMs per day
• Welcome: a separate shared allowance of up to 30 subscriber and follower Welcome messages per day
• Group campaigns: up to 2 group posts per day on Free

Your own configured limit can always be lower.


Campaign Mode can appear on Substack, Facebook Groups, Reddit and X to help you copy a campaign message and track where you shared it.

On external community sites, it derives only a group, community, profile or post identifier from the current URL. It does not read posts, private messages or account content on those sites, and it never posts automatically.


Your Substack session and cookies never leave your browser and are never stored by Subshack.

Stored locally:

• Settings and working caches
• CRM notes
• Follow-up dates
• Prepared-message state
• Local Notes, article and audience data

Private account backup is enabled by default for new users and can be disabled in Settings → Privacy. Existing disabled choices remain disabled.

When backup is enabled, supported Notes, articles, statistics, audience records and subscriber data are copied to the user’s private Subshack account.

When an AI feature is used, only the conversation or content required for that request is sent to our backend and AI provider. Private CRM notes are never sent to the server or an AI model.

Anonymous product analytics and an optional masked replay of Subshack’s own interface help improve the extension. Text, input values, images and link destinations are masked.

Subshack does not sell user data or transfer it to third parties for their own use.
