Older versions
Version 1.2.1
Released 14 Jun 2026 - 1.09 MBWorks with firefox 126.0 and later, android 140.0 and later- Compact mode for the Options page. A new "Compact mode" toggle in Interface options replaces the full language table and whitelist editor with concise read-only summaries. The language summary lists enabled languages, automatically enabled languages (single-script languages whose script is already permitted) in italics, and "Latin languages (always permitted)" at the bottom. The whitelist summary shows each domain with its offending characters highlighted in red. Edit buttons open each section as an overlay when you need to make chanfault on phones and off on tablets and desktops.
- Firefox for Android support. Tap the extension icon to open Options; use the Help button inside Options to reach the Help page. All pages have touch-friendly sizing with 44px minimum tap targets; blocked and warning page buttons stack vertically on narrow screens.
Changed
- Warning pages now identify themselves by type ading and browser tab title now read "ConfusableCharacter Domain Warning" or "Mixed Script Domain Warning". - "Mongolian (Cyrillic)" renamed to "Mongolian" - Minimum desktop Firefox version restored to 126. Version 1.1 raised the floor to 140 unnecessarily â older Firefox ignores the data_collection_permissions key rather than requiring a minimum version, and declaring required: ["none"] means there is no consent flow to provide on older versions anyins at 140.
- Help page updated throughout. Warning pages now have separate sections matching their new headings. A new "Latin-script languages â always permitted" section documents the full list. Options page documentation revised to cover Compact mode.
Fixed- Extension non-functional on Firefox for Android on Android and was crashing the backgroundscript before the blocking listener could register.
- "Open extension options" button failing on And
- Coloured tab squares stretched on Android touch devices.

Version 1.1
Released 13 Jun 2026 - 1.09 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and laterAdded- Script-coloured tags on the language table. Each script tag next to a language name is now coloured: green means that script is currently permitted, grey means it is not. The colour reflects the real permitted set used by the blocker.
- Single-script language auto-tick. Languages whose only non-Latin script is already permitted are ticked automatically with a dimmed label â enabling Japanese enables the Han script, which causes Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional) to tick themselves. Multi-script languages (Japanese, Korean, Serbian) are never auto-ticked and must be enabled explicitly.
- Cascade on untick. Unticking a language removes its scripts from the permitted set. Any other enabled language that relied solely on those scripts is also unticked, ensuring no orphaned scripts remain permitted.
- Copyright and licence visible in the UI. The Help page now has an About section with the copyright line, MPL-2.0 OR GPL-3.0 licence summary, and a link to the GitHub repo. The Options page has a matching footer line with a Help link that opens in a new tab so unsaved edits are preserved.
Changed- Language table no longer shows per-script sub-rows. The indented sub-rows were redundant with the script tags already visible on the same row and have been removed.
- Icon updated. The toolbar icon now reads Armenian Õ + Latin R + Armenian Ô¼ â two of the three letters are non-Latin homograph substitutions rendered in red. The icon is now SVG-only with theme-neutral colours and font-independent path rendering, so it looks identical on all systems and against all toolbar backgrounds.
- Help page: sticky header. The title bar and theme-toggle button remain visible while scrolling long pages.
- Help page: Permitted languages section updated. Now documents the script-colouring, auto-tick, and cascade behaviour introduced in this release.
- Minimum Firefox version raised to 140. Required for native support of the data_collection_permissions manifest key; earlier versions produced AMO validator warnings.
Fixed- Options tab no longer closes on first run. On a fresh install, the tab was inadvertently closing itself during initial settings setup.
- Private-browsing warning checkbox disabled when private access is already granted. The checkbox is now greyed out with a tooltip explaining why, rather than appearing interactive with no effect.
