FediRel Detector is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension operates entirely locally within your web browser and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

• We do not collect any personally identifiable information
• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not transmit any data to remote servers
• We do not use analytics or telemetry services
• We do not share any information with third parties
• We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies

What Happens Locally

The extension performs the following operations exclusively within your browser:

1. It reads HTML content of web pages you visit to detect rel="me" links and fediverse:creator meta tags
2. Detected links are temporarily stored in your browser's local session storage for the current tab only
3. All stored data is automatically deleted when you close the tab or browser

Data Retention

All data processed by this extension is:
- Stored temporarily in your browser's memory only
- Never persisted beyond the browser session
- Automatically cleared when tabs are closed
- Never transmitted outside your device

Permissions Explanation

This extension requires the following permissions:

• activeTab: To read page content and detect Fediverse links on the current tab
• storage: To temporarily cache detected links in local browser storage for display in the popup

These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and not for any tracking or data collection purposes.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not connect to, communicate with, or rely on any third-party services, APIs, or external servers.
