Haven't tried the extension much. I mostly wanted to be able to adjust the playback speed with keyboard shortcuts.
FINDING SETTINGS. I found it tricky to find the settings/options for the extension. They can be found by clicking the navigation bar icon. If the icon is not visible in the navigation bar, click the extension icon (puzzle piece), and then the name of the extension (not the settings gear next to the name).
My initial review was just asking for instructions on how to find the settings, which has been requested several times before and still remained unanswered. The developer seems to take everything as a personal attack and interpreting low ratings as malicious, and rather than giving straight answers goes on rants and insult the reviewers.

posted 2 years agoEDIT: hi again Sir, we still didn't insult you at all. Most of all browser extensions are just used this way, with nav-bar icons most of the time. After installation the appear at the "puzzle piece", then people "pin" them. Browser changed this a few times in over the years. It is is no bad, if you aren't an expert of these particular facts, but as said this extension is made for the common and easy way only. In about 10.000 user messages i read this maybe 5 times, so it is highly unlikely to appear 3 times in a row in 2023. BTW. i even I took the time for to figure out enabling your preferred other way to call the options, which is available since 5 days now. If you don't care for the extension and didnt find an issue, you shouldn't even rate 4 stars. It is below our average of 4.52.
Thanks

Still unsure whats the joke. Why would you feel so strong here? It is very unlikely / paradox if you wait for this extension like christmas gifts and already know the features are good, yet already want to attack the giver / volunteers. You might not want to hurt enduring volunteers or be perceived as spam. One more time: You can review the answer. It is informative. Most of all extensions have a navbar-browser-icon. Searching for options in the browser's full extension list is a bit old /outdated way and if you open it like that, it is far from what we meant (, which is switching on features while you are on YouTube to see the effect immediately).
Thanks

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19533654, 18 days agoFinally, an extension to block those pesky and pointless shorts and member only content that actually works. Thank you creators, you truly made YouTube usable again. Love all of the customization as well.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16768472, 21 days agoThe performance is very bad and the developer doesn't seem to be willing to fix it. Furthermore some features are missing and the ones that do exist don't work reliable, probably because of the very bad performance.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18986140, a month agoThis extension doesn’t perform as advertised! I’m not sure what people like about it or why it receives high reviews, but it fails to fulfill the primary purpose for which I downloaded it. I wanted it to remove “Shorts” from my search results and home page. While it does partially remove them from my home page, it does nothing to improve my search results. Regardless of which toggles I activate, every search is completely filled with “Shorts,” rendering this extension useless for my needs.
- Rated 4 out of 5by RaXelliX, a month agoAs of today Youtube changed the right side sidebar design. Now it has huge thumbnails. 3x less information density.
Unfortunately the only thing i can do within the addon is simply to hide the sidebar as none of the other settings like displaying only the titles etc no longer work. Likely due to code changes by YouTube.
Hope you get it working again in the coming weeks so i can go back to 10 suggested videos, instead of 3. - Rated 1 out of 5by Betablockr, a month agoIt simply doesn't work for the mobile YouTube site, only the desktop site which is unfortunate
- Rated 3 out of 5by MKP, a month agoIn general, a nice add-on.
But: It's not actually "light weight", it slows the browser down and sometime prevents videos from playing. Besides that it will kind of switch off Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin if "allow ads" is turned on.
I was only looking for an add-on that presets video quality and playback speed, this is kind of an overkill for that purpose. - Rated 3 out of 5by Emmanuel, a month agoHi. There's a problem when opening YouTube videos that have chat. When I enable the "Appearance, Sidebar, Live chat, Hidden" option in Improve YouTube, instead of hiding the chat, half the video remains with a black box. Previously, when I enabled this option, the chat disappeared completely, and the video didn't have half the screen with a black box.
Could you please resolve this issue?
Regards. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18755129, a month agoI use this add-on primarily for removing shorts from Youtube. It works perfectly and saves me from brainrot. Soon after Youtube added the AI descriptions, an absolute disgrace of a feature, this add-on added the option to remove them too. Amazing work!
- Rated 2 out of 5by Riku70X, a month agoI just want a button to reverse a playlist. It's great when it works, but most of the time it just does not show up even though it's absolutely checked in the settings (other stuff works fine, I can change the themes easily, but the entire playlist section just does nothing)

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17661354, a month agoWith this extension you still can't like or dislike a song on youtube music website with any other window in focus. It's 2025. Youtube music website is 10 years old and you still have to alt tab and manually point and click like/dislike button. Unbelievable.
