About this extension
Remember when Reddit was just a list of links you could actually read? If you still type old.reddit.com out of muscle memory, this one is for you. Classic Layout for Reddit rebuilds Reddit's modern site into the classic "old Reddit" layout across listings, comment threads, profiles and search.

Each page is fetched from Reddit's own JSON API and rendered with old Reddit's real, archived 2019 HTML and CSS, then layered with RES-style power features. It reproduces the full old-reddit chrome, right down to the subreddit sidebar, the sort tabs and the time filter.

KEYBOARD-FRIENDLY AND BUILT FOR DENSITY
• Keyboard navigation — j/k to move, o or Enter to open, x to expand.
• Infinite scroll — RES-style never-ending reddit, on by default.
• Inline expandos — click [+] to open a post's image, video, gallery or self-text in place; galleries have prev/next.

READING & COMMENT TOOLS
• Collapse any comment with [–]; comments new since your last visit are flagged.
• Inline spoiler tags reveal on click; NSFW and spoiler thumbnails stay blurred until you click.
• Auto-collapse bot comments and hide posts you've already read.

FILTERS & POWER TOOLS (from the Options page)
• Hide posts by subreddit, user, domain or title keyword.
• Set a minimum score or maximum age; hide NSFW or promoted posts.
• Highlight keywords, tag users with colored labels, and get hover cards for users and subreddits.

Plus a compact high-density view, an optional night mode (off by default, can auto-switch), a high-contrast mode, a dyslexia-friendly font, and full export / import of settings.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No data collection — no analytics, no tracking, no external servers.
• Reads only your own session — a same-origin request rides your logged-in Reddit session, nothing else; your settings stay local to your browser.
• Open source, MIT licensed and dependency-free.

GOOD TO KNOW — it's experimental and read-only:
• Needs a logged-in Reddit session — Reddit blocks the anonymous JSON API, so logged-out requests get a 403.
• Read-only: voting, saving, posting and commenting aren't wired up; the vote arrows and buttons render for looks but are inert.
• On any API error it falls back to normal Reddit, so you're never stuck on a blank page.
• Requires Firefox 142+.
