About this extension
AIChatClip lets you save valuable AI chat responses with a single click.

Supported AI Services
- ChatGPT (chat.openai.com / chatgpt.com)
- Claude (claude.ai)
- Gemini (gemini.google.com)
- Grok (grok.com)

How It Works
A clip button appears next to every AI response — blending seamlessly into each service's native UI. No clutter, no visual noise. Just a small icon that sits right where you'd expect it, alongside the existing action buttons. Click it to instantly save the conversation — including the user prompt, assistant response (converted to clean Markdown), chat title, and page URL.

Three Ways to Use
  1. Webhook Mode (Free, no account required)
    Set up any webhook URL in the extension popup. Every clip is sent as a JSON POST request, so you can connect it to Notion, Slack, Discord, n8n, Make, Zapier, or your own server.

Webhook payload:
json
{
"source": "claude",
"chatTitle": "Project Architecture Discussion",
"prompt": "How should I structure my API?",
"content": "Here's a recommended approach...",
"url": "https://claude.ai/chat/xxx",
"clippedAt": "2026-03-08T16:58:35.772Z"
}
  1. Obsidian Sync (Free plan)
    Connect your AIChatClip account and install the AIChatClip Obsidian plugin. Clipped conversations are automatically synced to your Obsidian vault as clean Markdown notes. No AI processing on the free plan, but you get reliable one-click capture and sync.
  2. Obsidian Sync + AI (Pro plan)
    Everything in the free plan, plus AI-powered organization:
  3. Auto-generated titles, tags, and summaries
  4. Smart folder classification using embeddings — clips land in the right folder automatically
  5. Customizable file naming templates and tag rules

Design Philosophy
The clip button is designed to feel native to each AI service. It matches the size, shape, color, and hover behavior of the existing action buttons (copy, like, etc.) so it never feels like an intrusive add-on. Your chat interface stays clean.

Privacy
- No data is collected or stored unless you explicitly configure a webhook or connect an AIChatClip account.
- Conversations are processed only when you click the clip button.
