Alt Text Creator Privacy Policy

WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES
Alt Text Creator generates image descriptions using AI to improve social media accessibility.

DATA COLLECTION
This extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.

API KEYS
Your API keys are stored locally in your browser using browser.storage.local. They are never sent to our servers. Keys are only used to authenticate directly with your chosen AI provider.

IMAGE PROCESSING
When you click "Create Alt Text", your image is sent directly to your selected AI provider (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Alt Kit Hosted) for processing. Images are not stored after the description is generated.

LOCAL STORAGE
The extension stores the following data locally on your device:
- Your selected AI provider
- Your API key for the selected provider
- Your preference for clipboard copying

This data never leaves your device except when making API calls to generate alt text.

This extension connects to third-party AI services. Their privacy policies apply:
