Welcome to the biggest update since Anime RPC launched! We have completely rebuilt the extension from the ground up to be faster, lighter, and incredibly easy to use.
    • No More Desktop App Required! You no longer need to download, install, or run a separate background companion app on your computer. Anime RPC is now a 100% standalone browser extension that broadcasts directly to Discord.
    • One-Click Discord Login: Simply click the extension icon, click Link with Discord, and you are ready to go.
    • True Cross-Platform Support: Because we removed the desktop bridge, Anime RPC now works flawlessly on Windows, macOS, and Linux right out of the box.
    • Beautiful New Design: We completely redesigned the popup interface. It features a sleek new dark theme with cyan accents, buttery-smooth animations, and a live "Now Watching" preview card.
    • Smart Activity Clearing: Fixed a lingering bug where your Discord profile would sometimes get "stuck" displaying the last anime you watched. The extension now instantly clears your status the moment you stop watching.
    • Live Progress Bars: The playback progress bar on your Discord profile is now fully functional and tracks your episode in real-time.
    • UI Polish: Fixed minor visual bugs, including clipped corners on the login modal, and upgraded the typography for better readability.
    • Privacy First: Added a quick "Broadcast to Discord" toggle in the settings menu so you can temporarily hide your watching status without needing to fully log out.

Love the extension? Leave us a review! If you run into any issues or want to request a new anime site, drop by our Discord server or open an issue on GitHub.

    Features & Improvements
    * Host App Resilience: The local RPC server now features a robust auto-reconnect system with exponential backoff. If Discord is closed, crashes, or hasn't started yet, the host will gracefully continue attempting to connect without crashing the WebSocket server.

    Bug Fixes
    * Dynamic host_permissions now generate perfectly during the build pipeline using relative pathing.
