AppsHunter.io — App Store companion by AppsHunter.io

When the user opens an app page on apps.apple.com and clicks the extension's toolbar icon, the panel reads the app's ID from the active tab's URL, requests that app's data from the AppsHunter.io API, and displays it in a side panel.

About this extension
An App Store page tells you today's price and a star average. It doesn't tell you whether that price is any good, how the app is trending, or what people actually wrote in their reviews.

AppsHunter.io puts that context in a side panel, next to the page you are already reading.

WHAT THE PANEL SHOWS

• Price history — the price changes we have tracked, plotted as a chart, with the all-time low and high labelled. When an app is discounted right now, a chip tells you by how much.

• Chart ranks — every chart the app currently sits on, with how far it has moved since the last reading.

• Ratings vs written reviews — Apple's star average beside the average of people who actually wrote something. When the two disagree, the panel says so in plain words. Both full star distributions are one click away, as is the current version's own rating.

• What reviews say — pros, cons, reported bugs and requested features, grouped and summarised automatically from written reviews, so you can read the verdict instead of the first page of five-star comments.

• The details buried further down — how many in-app purchases there are and whether a subscription price has been raised, which devices and languages are supported, how often the app ships updates and how long since the last one, whether it carries ads, and whether it has been pulled from the store.

HOW IT WORKS

Open any app page on apps.apple.com and click the AppsHunter icon in your toolbar. Browser requires that click — a side panel cannot open on its own. From then on the panel stays open and follows you, updating itself as you move from app to app.

PRIVACY

Read-only and anonymous.

• No account and no sign-in.
• No storage and no cookies. The extension keeps nothing between sessions.
• No "tabs" permission. It reads the address of App Store pages, and nothing else about your browsing.
• Two hosts, total: apps.apple.com and appshunter.io.

Data comes from appshunter.io, which tracks iOS apps, their prices and their reviews. An app we do not track yet shows a short note instead of a panel.

Free. Not affiliated with Apple.
