Canvascope turns your Canvas or Brightspace LMS experience into a local-first, AI-powered study hub. By indexing
your course materials and files directly inside the browser, it allows you to search, plan, and study offline or
online with ease.

* **Instant Course-Material Search**: Uses local Fuse.js lexical ranking to quickly locate files, assignments,

and modules.
* On-Page Keyboard Overlay (Cmd/Ctrl + K): Press Cmd/Ctrl + K on any Canvas page to search, look up upcoming
due dates, or ask questions instantly.
* Offline PDF & Image OCR Search: Locally extracts PDF text and uses Tesseract.js OCR to index scanned
documents and images.
* Local RAG Chat Companion: Chat offline using Gemini Nano (or configure a cloud API fallback) to ask
questions with cited sources restricted strictly to your course materials.
* Personalized Study Suggestions: The dynamic "Character Profile" suggests what to work on next based on due
dates, grades, and recent searches.
* Lectra iPad Handoff: Instantly send course PDFs to your iPad (Lectra app) for Apple Pencil annotation via
secure cloud integration.

### Privacy-First Architecture
Canvascope is local-first. Your search index, extracted PDF/OCR text, and search history stay in your browser

(chrome.storage.local). Cloud synchronization and companion app handoffs are entirely optional and require opt-in.
No trackers, ad libraries, or analytics scripts are included.
