About this extension

Chado AI is a workplace data-loss-prevention (DLP) tool, deployed by employers on company devices. It is not a consumer add-on. Installed on your own machine without an organization's enrollment token, it does nothing at all.

### What it does

* **Discovers AI use.** Recognizes AI/LLM services by the *shape* of their API requests (for example `/v1/chat/completions` or `:generateContent`), so unknown, self-hosted, white-labeled, and proxied AI tools are found too — not just a hard-coded list of well-known domains.
* **Inspects prompts before they leave the browser.** When a request is sent to a recognized AI service, its text is scanned for credentials, API keys, and personal data.
* **Applies the organization's policy.** Depending on what the administrator configured, a prompt is allowed, warned about, redacted, or blocked before it is sent. Disallowed AI sites can be blocked outright.
* **Reports to the organization's own Chado AI backend**, so the security team sees which AI tools are in use and which incidents occurred.

### What it does not do

It does not read the content of ordinary web pages, does not record typing on non-AI sites, and collects no browsing history unrelated to AI tools. It collects nothing whatsoever before an administrator enrolls it.

### Deployment

An IT administrator installs the add-on through enterprise policy and supplies a tenant id and enrollment token via managed configuration. Employees are informed of monitoring by their employer, who is the data controller for everything collected.
