Privacy policy for ChronoSearch
ChronoSearch by Clerical Studio
ChronoSearch is built with a strict privacy-first architecture.
Data Collection & Transmission:
ChronoSearch does not collect, monitor, transmit, or share any personal data, search queries, browsing history, or analytics. No data ever leaves the user's device.
Local Storage:
The extension utilizes the browser's native local storage API (chrome.storage.local) strictly to save the user's customized UI preferences (such as their active search mode, saved quarterly dropdowns, and locked timeframes). This data remains entirely local to the user's machine.
Permissions Justification:
The tabs permission is used exclusively to programmatically reload the active Google Search tab when a user changes their active toolset in the extension popup menu. It does not read, log, or track your broader tab history.
The host permission (://.google.com/search*) is used strictly to inject native UI buttons into the Google Search navigation bar and read the current URL parameters to highlight the active timeframe.
