What Congruently does

Congruently is a browser extension that reads captions generated by your video conferencing platform (Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams) and provides real-time coaching suggestions. It does not record audio, video, or screen content. It does not join your meetings. Other participants cannot see that you are using it.

What we don't do

Coaching history — stored in your browser's local storage only

Coaching memory — names, relationship context, and reflections from past meetings, stored locally to personalize coaching over time
Chat input — anything you type stays in your browser
Debrief summaries — generated after meetings and stored locally
You can export your coaching memory as an encrypted file from Settings and import it on another device. The file is encrypted using your account email and can only be read by Congruently. Uninstall the extension and all local data is deleted.

You can disable coaching memory entirely from Settings. When disabled, Congruently does not retain any information between meetings.

Data sent to third parties

When coaching is active, caption text from your meeting is sent to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) to generate coaching suggestions. This is the core functionality of the product.

What's sent: Recent caption text (including speaker names as they appear in captions), your selected mind/coaching style, relevant portions of your coaching memory, and any custom context you've provided.

What's NOT sent: Your email address, meeting titles, audio, video, screen content, or your full coaching history.

How it's sent: Unless you use your own API key (see BYOK below), caption data is routed through a Congruently-operated proxy on Cloudflare Workers before reaching the AI provider. The proxy handles authentication and rate limiting. It does not log or store caption content.

AI provider data policies: Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google do not train on API inputs. See each provider's privacy policy for details: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google.

BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) users

If you use your own API key, caption data is routed through the Congruently proxy to assemble your coaching prompt before reaching the AI provider. Your API key is transmitted to the proxy for this purpose but is never logged or stored — it exists only in memory for the duration of the request.

Account data

We collect an email address for account verification. This email is stored on Cloudflare Workers KV and is used only for:

Verifying your account
Sending account notifications (such as usage alerts)
Occasional product updates and news about Congruently
We also store a user ID and usage counters on Cloudflare Workers KV for rate limiting and plan management. That is the full extent of our server-side data.

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details.

We will never sell your email or share it with third parties. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time by replying to any message or emailing hello@congruently.app.

Debrief summaries

After a meeting, Congruently can generate a debrief summary of coaching moments and dynamics. This is generated by sending the accumulated meeting transcript to the AI provider. The debrief is displayed in your browser and stored locally. We don't have access to it.

Analytics

We do not use any analytics or tracking in the extension. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no telemetry.

Workplace and consent

Congruently does not record, store, or transmit audio, video, or screen content. It reads captions that your video conferencing platform generates in your browser. No bot joins your meetings and other participants cannot see that you are using Congruently.

That said, some organizations have policies about using third-party tools during meetings. It is your responsibility to ensure your use of Congruently complies with your employer's policies and any applicable laws. Congruently is not responsible for any employment, disciplinary, or legal consequences arising from your use of the extension.

Data deletion

Your coaching data lives in your browser's local storage. Clear it or uninstall the extension and it's gone. To delete your email and account data from our servers, email hello@congruently.app and we'll remove everything within 7 days.

Security

All API calls use HTTPS
No meeting data is stored on servers
Memory export files are encrypted with AES-256
Payment data is handled by Stripe (PCI compliant)
Your IT department may be able to see API traffic to anthropic.com or other provider domains. If you screen share with the coaching sidebar or overlay visible, others will see your coaching suggestions.

Children's privacy

Congruently is not designed for use by anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if anything changes. We'll always err on the side of less data, not more. If anything significant changes, we'll notify you by email.

Acceptance of terms

By installing or using the Congruently browser extension, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension and discontinue use.

What you can do

You may use Congruently for personal and professional coaching during video meetings. You may use your own API key (BYOK) to connect directly to supported AI providers. You may export and import your coaching memory between devices.

What you can't do

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension
Use Congruently to record, surveil, or monitor others without their knowledge or consent
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to Congruently or its proxy infrastructure
Attempt to circumvent usage limits or abuse the proxy system
Use the extension for any purpose that violates applicable law
Workplace responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of Congruently complies with your organization's policies regarding the use of third-party tools during meetings. Congruently is not responsible for any employment, disciplinary, or legal consequences resulting from your use of the extension.

Intellectual property

Congruently, its code, branding, and content are owned by Congruently. Your coaching data and meeting content remain yours — we claim no ownership over anything generated during your meetings.

AI-generated content

Coaching suggestions are generated by third-party AI models and should be treated as suggestions, not professional advice. Congruently is not a substitute for professional coaching, therapy, medical advice, or legal counsel. Use your own judgment.

Account termination

We may suspend or revoke access at any time for misuse of the service. You may stop using Congruently at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Congruently and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the extension. This includes but is not limited to damages for loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll note the date of the last update at the top of this section.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States.
