- Rated 5 out of 5by cactuspal2024, a year agoMade an account just to leave this review, which is long overdue. This add-on enables me to use almost any website effortlessly while healing from debilitating photosensitivity. I simply could not have used most of my favorite websites for the last year without it. Any bugs that might arise from other sites updating are SWIFTLY addressed by the developer and with transparency for all users. The dev tools under the hood are robust, and so any site with niche use cases for my personal needs are also accessible. I wish I could throw money at the dev for providing an invaluable tool for so many people, working tirelessly to uphold its quality, and helping so many of us use the internet without pain. I hope this review, and the hundreds of people I have recommended this app to (many of which are abled but just enjoy reduced eyestrain now!!!), can be the next best thing!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15243232, a year agoAbsolutely essential for me to use the web. Works out of the box on 97% of websites and is easily configured to work or temporarily disabled on the other 3%.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Adam Shepherd, a year agoDark Reader is a cool tool for those, who prefer to read the web in a dark environment. It offers to change websites to a dark version, that otherwise do not offer the option. But if a site does offer already a dark theme, Dark Reader offers users to opt out from altering an already dark site to it's dark version. It is also possible to disable darkening sites all together. The preview interface (which I can't wait to see fully implemented) also support dynamic switching to a dark theme.
The author faces many uphill battle to support this add-on, and the fact that they still provide support despite all the backlash is more astonishing then anything. May be biased myself, it definitely deserves a positive rating. - Rated 5 out of 5by LCV88700, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by CoolCat467, a year agoDark reader works very well for almost all websites, and I don't like browsing the web without it for websites that don't have a built-in dark theme. I don't like burning my eyes.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18730969, a year agoThe best dark reader extension available - outstanding work! Ignore the recent 1-star reviews about Reddit's website - the bug was introduced by a recent update by Reddit itself, and the Dark Reader developers quickly worked to address the issue.
If you're a (long-time) user of this incredible tool, please consider supporting the developers through a donation to help them continue their fantastic work. It's discouraging (and counterproductive) to see users who have benefited from Dark Reader for years suddenly leaving negative reviews at the first sign of a problem, instead of reaching out to the developers or checking for updates first. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18730894, a year agoThis is one of the most vital and effective add-ons I've ever installed. Not every website/browser/etc has a consistent dark mode, and none handle it as well as Dark Reader. Needing to constantly research, this add-on saves my eyes at night. Even with recent changes to FireFox which temporarily hampered performance, Dark Reader quickly pushed an update and is straightforward about addressing issues. Honestly, this is probably one of the best add-ons next to an ad-blocker out there.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17903605, a year agoThis extension is a huge difference maker for me, and for so many people, reducing eyestrain and promoting eye health. The internet is always changing and squashing bugs is a constant battle. So thank you Dark Reader for your hard work!!!
I want to contribute some encouragement and I will contribute cash as soon as I'm able.
Edit: For users who may need to disable this on a specific website: First, go to the website where you're having issues, then open the extension menu (you should see only your active extensions). Select Dark Reader, then uncheck "Enabled for current website". The menus are different between desktop & mobile, but it's fairly easy to figure out. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18730218, a year agoNot works on Mozilla.org page. All other perfect
