Privacy Policy — Pause Before Purchase (Dopamine Delay)

Dopamine Delay ("the extension") helps you pause before impulse purchases. This policy explains what data the extension collects, why, and how it is handled.

WHAT WE COLLECT
Account information. If you create an account or sign in, we store your email address and account identifier so we can save your settings and sync your progress across devices.

Your activity in the extension. When you encounter a pause on a shopping site, we record the outcome (for example, whether you waited or continued), the website's address, points earned, and the settings you choose. This powers your points, streaks, and progress.

Approximate location. We detect your country from your IP address (via the ipapi.co service) so the extension can show prices in your local currency. We do not collect precise GPS location.

Anonymous analytics (optional). With your consent, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage and technical data (such as which features are used and basic error information) to improve the extension. This does not identify you.

WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
We do not collect your payment card numbers, bank details, passwords for other websites, browsing history on non-shopping sites, or the content of pages beyond what is needed to show the pause prompt.

HOW YOUR DATA IS USED
Your data is used only to provide and improve the extension's features: saving your settings, syncing your progress, showing local currency, and understanding how the extension is used. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED
Settings and progress are stored locally in your browser and, if you are signed in, in our secure cloud database (provided by Supabase). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

SHARING
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that help run the extension (such as our cloud database and analytics provider), and only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.

YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You can use most of the extension without creating an account. You can clear your local data at any time by removing the extension. If you have an account and would like your data accessed, corrected, or deleted, contact us using the details below.

CHILDREN
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

CHANGES
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
