- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13066429, 7 years agoThe latest update broke a feature I enjoyed from the previous one. Not using the ASCII characters when saving files. All images I have downloaded since the update have had %20 in place of spaces where it used a proper space previously.
Otherwise, it works fine, but I would like the option to disable thumbnail previews as well. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14155482, 7 years agoOffers almost everything what I miss since DownThemAll is not supported anymore. The only thing missing is an additional download immediately button without popup once the filters are set up correctly.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13297159, 7 years agoDoes just what I want: allows me to filter from all items on a page and download them without individual intervention!
Hints:
Default folder is DownloadStar inside the default Firefox download folder.
To view only what will be downloaded, rather than all links on page, click "Show only checked items" button, fourth icon at bottom - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 11241492, 7 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by spamz, 7 years agodoes what it says. its clean and simple. picks up videos. havent downloaded anything yet, so not sure how well that works. i was hoping there was a way to copy the whole link. the link is shortened so u cant copy and paste.
and there is no option to copy the link.
i was hoping to use this add on to "scrape" the videos from websites and then copy the link so i can open it in my external video player. FLASHGOT used to have this option. right click and copy link in context menu? or a button at bottom, or next to image?
either way, if it had this option, it would easily replace FLASHGOT for me. as it stands i cant give it 5 stars for that one reason. which is the bulk of how i would have used this add on.
------------------ EDIT -----------------------
not sure if i just missed it the first time, or if it was added on this recent update. but now im able to copy the link to the video, and i paste it into my external video player. works a treat !! so i gave it that last star. now its 5 stars all the way !! if i missed it the first time then i apologize, if it was added with this last update, then thank you. finally a replacement for Flashgot.. - Rated 5 out of 5by Interpol, 7 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by The Beard Below My Chin, 7 years agoVery well designed add-on.
The developers were quick (3 days) to fill my feature request. I see this as a strong contender for a DownThemAll replacement over Bulk Media Downloader, it's not quite there yet but it's actively being maintained and already very usable unlike BMD. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13712702, 7 years agoIt's a very helpful add-on, thanks.
One question: Version 2 requires as a new permission "Access your data for all websites". Why is that?
Edited: Answered in the add-on description. Overlooked it, sorry.Developer response
posted 7 years agoThe answer is in the addon description, you read that didn't you?
Edit: the permission is now optional, and only enabled if you use scrape all tabs feature. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14140453, 7 years agoI am a graphic designer and have to download anywhere from 50 to 150 pictures almost every week for projects. This helps me so much! It puts all the pictures in a file on my desktop and I can easily rename the file and move it to its final destination. Exactly what I was looking for and a great alternative to DownloadThemAll. Actually if DownloadThemAll was still available, I would choose this app over it any day. Nice work and thank you!

- Rated 2 out of 5by gianni, 7 years agoFor what I've seen, it works only when the url - file that you need to download has an extension at the end of the link.

- Rated 4 out of 5by criza, 7 years agoI agree with the previous reviewer, a batch function so you can add multiple urls would be great! Also, can one download text and images in one step? Thank you.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14078353, 8 years agoEasy to use replacement for downthemall. I use it to download a bunch of pdf and epub links on download pages that I would otherwise have to handle one-at-a-time. This addon is a HUGE time and frustration saver.
Thank you Mark! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14070084, 8 years agoWorks great! Looking forward to the future versions of this addon.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13528712, 8 years agoGood replacement for DownThemAll. BRAVO.
It would be nice, though, to be able to change the download folder.
(Where exactly the "DownloadStar" folder is located ???) - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13823800, 8 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Wrun, 8 years agoIt`s so good for me, easy to get all links what I need. But why I can`t change downloading folder?

posted 8 years agoFirefox does not allow web extensions to save files outside of the default download folder. - Rated 5 out of 5by madtom, 8 years agoSo far, far better than expected! I have been able to download multiple files from websites easily and quickly, so they can be mass-handled or topically filed once in hand. [using the version of Firefox that runs on Linux Mint Debian Edition]
- Rated 5 out of 5by gusdenis, 8 years agoGreat alternative to Downthemall! Works on Firefox Quantum and allows you to download images from pinterest's boards
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13011485, 8 years agoFirstly I appreciate there being an effort to replace DtA since it's been left by the wayside until the creator can update it. This is an acceptible substitute. I appreciate being able to filter the availble links. Currently looking for the ability to throttle download speeds as well as queue list to squentially download one at a time.
