- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13905929, 8 hours agoFor me, this is the best YouTube addon available on Mozilla. I'm very happy that it received an update that fixes bugs related to the new YouTube UI. It took so long I even started looking for a replacement addon. Happily I'm here again.

Thank you for your support! - Rated 5 out of 5by Muzikals, 12 hours agoThe best add-on for YouTube is back on Firefox ! Thank you :D
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12599364, 15 hours agoIf this add-on stopped working I might actually stop using youtube, which is why I was so glad to see the recent update.
However, the update also introduced a number of bugs. Default playback speed doesn't work. In full screen the UI scrolls but the video doesn't. And there are too many issues on live streams to even list here.
Is there a better place to send detailed bug reports?
5 stars because when it works its fantastic, the bugs dont actually bother me too much, and the ongoing development gives me hope.Developer response
posted 9 hours agoThanks. I have tested all these features and didn't find any issue.
Please wait for the next update to be published, and if your issues persist, contact me via my website. The debug info file will be helpful, but some users have reported that they can't create it with the current version. Not a problem because this is fixed in the upcoming version. - Rated 4 out of 5by DragoXphere, 15 hours agoEver since the latest update, when trying to scroll on the speed adjuster icon the entire screen scrolls, when previous the screen would lock. This makes adjusting the speed, especially when scrolling down, very difficult

posted a day agoThis should be fixed in the version currently pending for review (2.0.131.1). Personally, I have never been able to reproduce this issue, but I'm confident the next version will fix it.Developer response
posted a day agoThanks. I have fixed this issue in the version that is currently pending for review (v2.0.131.1). Let's hope it won't take one week to get it reviewed and published.
You can use this as custom theme to quickly fix it:
body.efyt-cinema-mode:has(#movie_player.ytp-fullscreen) #efyt-background {
display: none;
visibility: hidden;

posted a day agoThere's a new version pending for review, it should fix this issue. - Rated 3 out of 5by Neoslayer, 2 days agoWhen it works, it's amazing. But on half of the videos, it just doesn't work. The UI buttons are gone, ctrl + wheel no longer changing the video playback speed - The only functioning thing is the custom theme color I set. Replicating this issue may have to do with "Place controls within the video player" but I'm not sure. Could be a conflict with another extension? If there is a way to fix this, I will change the review to 5 stars.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17972734, 2 days agoA great suite of QoL features YouTube should already have! I especially like adjusting video volume with the mouse scroll wheel and watching the video inside a picture-in-picture viewer while scrolling comments

- Rated 5 out of 5by Rikardos, 2 days agoIts nice to see that its back and updated , But the new version broke cinema mode , when going full screen it dims the player the same amount as the setting is and make it not intractable when cinema mode is on. I got it set to 98% so its completely unwatchable in full screen with cinema mode on. Even reinstalled and it did not help.
Edit: fix worked.Developer response

} - Rated 2 out of 5by John Doe, 3 days agoThe update landing page claimed something along the lines of “tons of bug fixes and improvements - too many to list.”
In reality, I don’t see any improvements at all. In fact, it broke features that were working perfectly fine in the previous version.
For starters, embed quality stopped working for me after the update. I’m not sure what else is broken yet, but I’ll update this review as I encounter more issues.
What makes this especially disappointing is that I previously found the extension very impressive. The old version worked flawlessly for me, even after YouTube’s UI changes. Every feature I used continued to work without issues right up until this update.
Given this experience, I’m honestly starting to wonder whether the original author is still maintaining the project, especially considering there’s no proper changelog and the overall experience has clearly regressed.
Anyway, just a heads-up to others. Someone should confirm whether this update actually comes from the original author and possibly decompile the code to check for anything sketchy. I’ll most likely downgrade to the older version and disable auto-updates.Developer response
posted 2 days agoYou're just out of luck. Maybe try to reinstall it.
And yes, I’m the original author. Don't start spinning fake news or acting like a conspiracy theorist. Mozilla has full access to the source code, you don't need to inspect anything. If you don't trust Mozilla, then don't use Firefox.
For future readers: if you think the previous version works better for you, you can reinstall it from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/enhancer-for-youtube/versions/
Don't forget to turn off automatic updates.
