- Rated 5 out of 5by Basicsman, 9 years agoYesterday I updated Ghostery to version 7.3.3.7 (in Firefox 55.0.3) and luckily it seems that the developer has fixed the delay and hang issues. Startup is fast again and Firefox is immediately ready for use - at least on my Mac, and I always startup with a blank page, not with zillions of tabs open. So Ghostery is back on my list of must-have add-ons. Good job!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Dark_Ronius, 9 years agoGhostery seems to have stopped going down the for-profit route, stopped slurping data, and after 8 years I can say they are trustworthy again and my daily driver. The main advantage is combining many features in one extension; optmeowt, adblockplus, privacy badger plus great visualisations of the trackers following you. Part of minimising your digital fingerprint is reducing the number of extensions you use: by combining features into one app, you're more likely to blend into the crowd. The same can be said for not having any list customisation; sometimes I wish it had more list options, but again this would be at the cost of making you more identifiable and standing out from the crowd. I think the only option I'd like to see is something like "Enable acceptable ads"
I'd really like to see them focus on speed, as comparing benchmark scores with ublockorigin shows the browser runs slightly slower than that extension. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13236641, 9 years ago
