Older versions
Version 1.3.0
Released Sep 10, 2026 - 112.77 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later- Improved contextual Wikipedia matching. View in GooWi uses context more effectively while giving specific link destinations priority over broader matches.
- Better handling of qualified and ambiguous searches. Supported identity qualifiers, including lowercase forms, help distinguish the intended topic while preserving literal titles and Wikipedia disambiguation pages.
- More conservative results when evidence is insufficient. Recognized exclusions and qualified requests receive stronger checks. Supported two-person and friendship searches are less likely to return an article that merely mentions the people involved. GooWi may stay silent rather than show a misleading match.
- Improved links in Chrome and Edge. Google redirect routing paths are no longer mistaken for Wikipedia topics.
- New GooWi visual identity and browser icon.
- Cleaner no-match presentation. Ordinary unsuccessful lookups show only “No confident Wikipedia match found.” Detailed diagnostics remain available in the developer console.
- GitHub homepage. Extension homepage links, including Firefox's developer link, point to the GooWi repository.
