by BathindaHelper, 8 years agoEarlier Speed Dial addon was 100% fast. This speed dial seems that it takes its data from some remote server. Because when I click on its button, it takes some moments to show all my dials, which is not acceptable and forces me to disable this addon.
2nd, when I click on its button, it takes another click to reach to speed dials (I've to click on Group name, which isn't desirable to people like me, who always work with one group).
And last, it doesn't have the functionality of opening my dials directly with short cut keys without opening the speed dial at all.

posted 8 years agoHello Bobby,
Regarding your issues:
1) the add-on is not taking data from remote server, if it loads more than half a second, something is very wrong, make sure your homepage is properly set following steps in Options page / first line. Also there are known issues in "Ghostery" add-on that causes performance issues in my add-on.
2) there is option in Options page to open dials page directly when toolbar icon is pressed
3) there is another add-on that adds this functionality:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ctrl_groupspeeddial/
If you have more issues, feel free to write me to my support e-mail.
Have a nice day and happy holidays :)
Best regards,

- Rated 5 out of 5by ssdogdu, 10 hours agoThe dial dimensions are too large. I gave 4 stars but I would give 5 stars if it was possible to resize dials and adjust how many dials should be in a row.
Edit: Yep, did it! Thanks. Will change to 5 stars of course.Developer response
posted 10 hours agoHello,
You can customize the group layout in the "Edit group" window - right click group name or open main menu and click "Edit group".

posted 4 months agoHello,
Group Speed Dial version 26.0 is still compatible with Firefox ESR 115, you can install it from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/groupspeeddial/versions/
(click the "[Download file](https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/4348052/groupspeeddial-26.0.xpi)" below the change log)
Sadly, I can no longer bring back support in the current version of my addon due to missing JavaScript features in Firefox ESR 115. Even the newer ESR 128 is getting too old and in a few months will be replaced with Firefox ESR 140.
But the version 26.0 should work fine.

posted 5 months agoHello,
Well, I've been developing it full time for over 7 years now with minimal income, so the money keeps me and my many addons alive.
If I had a normal job as a programmer instead, this addon wouldn't exist or the features would be only very basic.
I know it sucks... but unless I find a big sponsor, there is just no other way to fund the development.
I'm sorry for the bad news :(

posted 5 months agoHello,
It looks like you are trying to import HTML file using a wrong import field (one that accepts only JSON file type).
Try to use the import field under the "Chrome bookmarks / Opera bookmarks (speed dial)".
That should be able to handle HTML file.
If it still doesn't work, please contact me to my support email ([email protected]) with more details - specifically, how was the HTML file created.

posted 5 months agoHello,
Try a different "Group layout" - first right click a group name, then select "Edit group".
There you can choose between several layout, some allows you to specify number of rows / columns, and in some you can choose the exact size of the tiles.
Some incomplete documentation is also here:
