by Firefox user 15022609, 6 years agoVery fast speed dial implementation, and among the most customizable I've ever seen. Nesting groups is excellent and all the ways you can get good thumbnails are also effortless. The only thing I'd wish it did was save the speed dials as bookmarks, so you could sync them with just the built-in Firefox sync. But, it's great you can both export settings to import elsewhere as well as sync to a cloud solution. Assuming you are willing to trust the people running said cloud service with your data and login. When there are no ads and no obvious ways for the maker of the plugin to make money beyond donations, I start wondering what the catch is. But, this is something you have to think about for all plugins, and I really like how this one works.

posted 6 years agoHello,
The bookmarks synchronization will come eventually. But it will take some time... there is just too many things to do.
Regarding my cloud server - as I'm the only author, I can guarantee you, nobody except me has access to the cloud. That also means that I'm the weakest link in the chain - which means it's pretty strong chain :) as I'm a professional programmer with great skills regarding security.
But for the future I'm planning also end-to-end encryption to make things even more secure.
Regarding my income - this is very bad. I have almost none (as you can see in my Patreon page). I live from my savings from previous jobs.
But I do what I love and it's used by so many happy users (which is a great feeling!) so I believe the money will come somehow eventually.
Also soon I will bring back the Pro version and some of the new features will be available only for Patreon supporters. That should generate some income to help me keep this project (and me) alive :).
Best regards,
Juraj Mäsiar

- Developer responseposted 4 months agoHello,
Group Speed Dial version 26.0 is still compatible with Firefox ESR 115, you can install it from here:
 https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/groupspeeddial/versions/
(click the "[Download file](https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/4348052/groupspeeddial-26.0.xpi)" below the change log)
Sadly, I can no longer bring back support in the current version of my addon due to missing JavaScript features in Firefox ESR 115. Even the newer ESR 128 is getting too old and in a few months will be replaced with Firefox ESR 140.
But the version 26.0 should work fine.

Without an option for getting a lifetime version.
There is no friking way, I'm paying a subscription.Developer responseposted 4 months agoHello,
Well, I've been developing it full time for over 7 years now with minimal income, so the money keeps me and my many addons alive.
If I had a normal job as a programmer instead, this addon wouldn't exist or the features would be only very basic.
I know it sucks... but unless I find a big sponsor, there is just no other way to fund the development.
I'm sorry for the bad news :(

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON dataDeveloper responseposted 5 months agoHello,
It looks like you are trying to import HTML file using a wrong import field (one that accepts only JSON file type).
Try to use the import field under the "Chrome bookmarks / Opera bookmarks (speed dial)".
That should be able to handle HTML file.
If it still doesn't work, please contact me to my support email ([email protected]) with more details - specifically, how was the HTML file created.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Pavel, 5 months agoIn my opinion the biggest drawback is the inability to resize the tiles. When you increase the distance between them, the bottom row goes out of the screen boundariesDeveloper responseposted 5 months agoHello,
Try a different "Group layout" - first right click a group name, then select "Edit group".
There you can choose between several layout, some allows you to specify number of rows / columns, and in some you can choose the exact size of the tiles.
Some incomplete documentation is also here:
