About this extension
This add-on is designed for use with Zen Browser.
Like Arc Browser, it keeps things tidy by automatically closing only those tabs that are unpinned and not in a container once 24 hours have passed since they were last used. Tabs that are pinned, in a container, currently active, or playing audio are never closed. By default, it runs quietly every 5 minutes.
■ What it does
- Automatically closes unpinned, non-container tabs after 24 hours of inactivity
- Preserves Pinned / Container / Active / Audible tabs
- Checks in the background every 5 minutes
■ Options
- Close after inactivity (minutes) — how long to wait before closing eligible tabs
- Check interval (minutes) — how often the automatic cleanup runs
You can change these values on the Options page; saving applies them immediately.
■ Sweep now (manual)
Left-click the toolbar button to immediately close eligible unpinned, non-container tabs (ignores the 24-hour wait). Protected tabs (Pinned / Container / Active / Audible) are never closed.
■ Permissions & privacy
- tabs — read tab metadata (pinned status, last accessed time, etc.) and close tabs
- alarms — perform periodic checks every 5 minutes
- storage — save your Options
No data collection, analytics, or external network requests. All processing is local.
■ Tip for testing
Temporarily set Close after inactivity = 1 minute and Check interval = 1 minute, leave an unpinned, non-container tab in the background, then wait ~1–2 minutes or click Sweep now; it should close automatically. Restore your usual values afterward.
If there are tabs you never want to close by mistake, consider backing them up before testing.
