Data Collection
This addon does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers operated by us. All user data remains on your device or is sent directly to your self-hosted Kimai instance.
Data Stored Locally
The addon stores the following data in your browser's local extension storage:
- Kimai server URL and API token — used to authenticate with your Kimai instance
- URL templates — user-defined rules for auto-filling time entries
- User preferences — settings such as checkbox states and description formats
This data never leaves your browser except when communicating directly with your configured Kimai server.
Network Communication
The addon communicates exclusively with:
- Your Kimai server — to start, stop, and manage time entries via the Kimai REST API
- app.clockwork.report — the addon monitors requests to this domain (Clockwork Pro) to detect timer start/stop events. No data is sent to Clockwork; the addon only observes existing browser requests.
No data is sent to any other third-party service, analytics platform, or advertising network.
Permissions Explained
- storage — to save your settings and templates locally
- tabs — to read the current page URL and title for auto-filling time entry descriptions
- webRequest — to detect Clockwork Pro timer events for automatic Kimai integration
- host_permissions (app.clockwork.report) — required for the webRequest listener to observe Clockwork API calls
Third-Party Links
The addon contains a link to www.kimaimobile.com. Clicking this link opens an external website subject to its own privacy policy.
