About this extension
Kokoro Reader is a feature-rich interface for the Kokoro-FastAPI local Text-to-Speech engine. It allows you to send articles, highlighted text, or entire web pages to be read aloud using the incredibly realistic Kokoro TTS model running on your local machine.
This extension is an advanced fork of the original Kokoro TTS Sender created by Fooftilly (and originally Peroniko). It has been reverse-engineered and enhanced with a focus on usability, aesthetics, and long-form content support.

- Floating Action Button: A convenient button appears when you select text for instant reading.
- Global Shortcuts: Use
Alt+Kto Play/Pause,Alt+Rto read the current article, and Alt + , and Alt + . for backward and forward functionalities.
🚀 How to Use:
- Install Kokoro-FastAPI: This extension requires the Kokoro-FastAPI server running locally (usually via Docker on port 8880).
- Select Text: Highlight any text and click the floating icon (or right-click -> "Send to Kokoro TTS").
- Read Articles: Press
Alt+Rto automatically detect and read the main content of a page. - Mix Voices: Open the extension popup to mix voices and adjust speed/volume.
