    Version 1.3.2

    Released Sep 10, 2026 - 285.17 KB
Works with firefox 128.0 and later
One fix, for the worst thing Konode has done to anyone's bookmarks.

If you have been seeing "an unusual deletion was blocked" come back every minute, for bookmarks that are still sitting there on every one of your devices, this update is that. Nothing was ever lost: the guard that refused the deletion did its job every single time. What it could not do was stop being asked.

What was happening: when one device refused an unusual deletion, it filed the request away and then published it again under its own name on the next sync. The device that read it did the same. Within a few cycles every device was asking every other device to delete bookmarks that all of them still had, and each one refused, saved a restore point, and passed the request on. That is why the warning never cleared no matter what you changed, why it named a different device each time, and why the counts kept changing: they were not one deletion but everyone's, added together and going round.

A device now only ever asks for the deletions it made itself. It never asks you to delete a bookmark it is advertising to you in the same breath, which is what the old files were doing. And it ignores that request when another device makes it, so the warning should stop on the first sync after you update this device, even while your other devices are still on the old version. Update those too and they stop making the request at all.

Two things you can undo afterwards. If you set a device to Prefer Local to keep this at bay, you can put it back to Last Write Wins. And the restore points the guard saved are still in Settings, under Activity, to apply or to keep.

    Version 1.3.1

    Released Sep 10, 2026 - 285.01 KB
Works with firefox 128.0 and later
A fixes-only release. The one Firefox users need to know about: setting Konode up here works again.

Since 1.2.1, Konode never actually asked Firefox for the permissions it needs, and then told you that you had refused them. Setup stopped on "Konode needs permission to reach your WebDAV server" with nothing on screen to allow, and the data type switches in Settings sprang back with the same complaint. Firefox only shows that window while your click is still being handled, and Konode had taken to checking something else first. It asks first now.

    Also fixed:
    • A device asking to delete nearly all of your bookmarks was blocked with no way to say yes, so the warning could not be cleared at any setting. Settings → Activity now shows what is being held back, which device asked for it, and a button that allows it.
    • A device's open tabs or extension list could get stuck on an old version while every sync went on reporting success. There were three separate ways to get there and all three are fixed.
    • A WebDAV server that refuses passwords now says so, instead of blaming yours.
    • History sync no longer gets slower with every device you add.
    • Several things that wrote the same line to the Activity log every minute do not any more.
    • An update now installs as soon as it is offered, rather than waiting for you to restart your browser.

    Released Aug 17, 2026 - 279.63 KB
Works with firefox 128.0 and later
Konode now speaks your language on every screen it has. Settings was the last one still in English whatever the rest of Konode was reading in, and Spanish and Chinese (Simplified) are complete, which brings the finished languages to five: English, Hungarian, German, Spanish and Chinese. Konode follows the language your browser is already set to, so there is nothing to switch on.
    Fixed:
    • A device you forgot went on haunting your other machines. Its tabs were still offered for you to restore and its extensions still counted as "missing on this device", with nothing left in your storage to justify either. Every device now checks what it remembers against what your storage actually holds, on its next sync.
    • The popup offers a way back into setup. If you closed the setup tab, or your browser never opened it, there was nothing telling you what to do next.
    • Three fixes for browsers built on WebKit, such as Orion: bookmarks arriving split across two folders, a session restoring as a single tab, and a first install with no way into setup.
Firefox and Waterfox are unaffected by the WebKit fixes and keep restoring sessions into the window you are already in, pinned tabs still pinned.
Spanish was translated by Pablo Trabucco and Chinese (Simplified) by keane, both volunteers on Hosted Weblate, where anyone can translate Konode without touching code: https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/konode/

    Fixes

Settings could open blank, with nothing on screen to explain it. This happened on a fresh install if you did not turn on extension-list syncing, which is the default, so most people were affected. Settings now opens either way.
A data type could stay switched on after losing the permission it needs, and quietly sync nothing. Konode now names the missing permission and tells you how to restore it, and the rest of your data keeps syncing meanwhile.
If a screen fails to draw, you now get an explanation and a reload button instead of an empty window. Your synced data is never involved in those failures, and the message says so.
A browser feature Konode cannot use no longer stops the rest of it from working.
The "missing on this device" list could hide extensions you really do not have, and dropped anything the browser does not classify as an extension.
    Sideloaded on Firefox for Android

Konode is not listed for Android, but if you installed it there by hand: bookmarks and history cannot sync on that platform, because Firefox for Android provides no API for either. Konode now says so plainly instead of failing, and setup no longer blames your WebDAV server for a prompt the browser is unable to show. Open tabs still sync.
