Privacy policy for Meisai
Meisai by Ankit Anshu
Effective August 2, 2026.
Meisai is a browser productivity extension for planning, reading, knowledge organization, focused work, learning, and career management.
Meisai does not sell user information, serve advertising, include third-party analytics, or operate a server that receives users’ locally stored workspace content.
Depending on the features selected by the user, Meisai may handle:
• A display name and profile image
• Tasks, notes, habits, calendar events, countdowns, and focus sessions
• Saved pages, readable article content, reading progress, highlights, and comment notes
• Knowledge Vault entries, screenshots, images, links, text, and code
• Projects, job applications, interview information, resumes, and learning resources
• A manually selected weather location
• Optional browser bookmarks and history used for command suggestions
• Search terms entered into web-search or recommendation features
Persistent user content is stored locally on the user’s device using IndexedDB.
Lightweight interface preferences, including theme settings, helper position, notification choices, and the last opened page, use the browser’s local extension storage.
Meisai does not synchronize this information to a Meisai server.
Meisai makes network requests only when required for a user-facing feature.
These requests may include:
• Sending a manually selected location to Open-Meteo to retrieve weather and air-quality information
• Sending a typed search term to the user’s selected search or suggestion provider
• Loading the original source webpage when the user requests Reading Mode
• Opening a saved external link or roadmap
• Opening or submitting the published Google feedback form
These external services process requests according to their respective privacy policies.
Web-search recommendations can be disabled from Meisai Settings. Weather requests occur only after a location is selected.
Bookmark and history permissions are optional. They are requested only when the corresponding command-suggestion feature is enabled.
Bookmark and history results are processed locally to provide command suggestions. Meisai does not transmit this information to a Meisai server.
Access to supported HTTP and HTTPS webpages is used to provide:
• The visible Meisai Helper
• User-requested Reading Mode
• User-requested screenshot capture
• Saving a page to Read Later
• Website blocking for domains specifically configured by the user during an active focus session
The Helper does not operate on protected internal browser pages or extension-store pages.
Screenshots and attached files are created only after a user requests the action. They are stored locally inside Meisai’s IndexedDB storage.
Meisai does not upload screenshots or files to a Meisai server.
Meisai does not sell user data, share it for advertising, use it for personalized advertising, or include third-party analytics.
User information is transmitted only when necessary to complete an explicitly provided network feature, such as weather, web search, Reading Mode, or feedback.
Users can view, edit, export, restore, or delete their local content using Meisai’s Privacy & Data controls.
Users can disable notification categories and optional command-suggestion sources independently.
Local information remains on the device until it is deleted through Meisai, cleared through browser controls, removed during extension uninstallation, or erased with the browser’s application data.
Users should export a backup before uninstalling the extension or clearing browser data.
Meisai uses Manifest V3, packages executable code with the extension, validates stored records, and sanitizes supported rich content before rendering it.
Meisai does not load or execute remote code.
Meisai is a general productivity application and is not specifically directed toward children. Meisai does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated server.
Material changes to Meisai’s information practices will be reflected in this policy. The effective date will be updated when necessary.
