The developer does not receive your queries or API keys, operate a backend, sell user data, or include advertising, analytics or tracking code in this extension.

When you request a search or translation, your typed query or the text you deliberately select for the context menu is sent over HTTPS to the translation provider you select: MyMemory, DeepL, Google Cloud Translation or Azure Translator. A failed translation can send the query to your configured fallback provider. You can disable fallback in Settings. Opening result tabs sends translated queries (or the original query if translation fails) to your selected search engines. These services apply their own privacy policies and receive the IP address and ordinary network metadata of the request. The extension does not scan pages or collect the contents, titles or URLs of other tabs.

Firefox requests consent for search terms and selected website content when installing this extension. API keys and the optional MyMemory contact email have separate, optional permissions in Settings. Without the corresponding permission, the extension blocks requests that would send that credential. Keys are sent only to the matching translation provider; the email goes only to MyMemory. You can grant or revoke these permissions in Settings or in Firefox's add-on permissions. Revocation stops future credential requests; it cannot recall data already sent. An allowed fallback may still translate the query without the blocked credential.

The Firefox build stores preferences, glossary, API keys, optional provider email, recent searches and editable popup previews only in this browser profile's local extension storage. It does not use Firefox Sync. Disabling Save recent searches clears locally saved queries and previews and stops saving new ones. The Clear button removes recent-search history. Firefox's own browsing history is managed separately.

Settings export writes a JSON file to your device. Keys and provider email are excluded by default. If you choose to include them, the exported file contains plain text. Keep that file private. Imports are validated; importing a credential does not grant permission to transmit it. You can erase credentials and save, or reset settings. Uninstalling removes this extension's local data; exported files and the browser's history are managed separately.

User data is used and transferred only to provide the extension's multilingual search features, as described above. The developer does not use it for advertising or unrelated purposes and does not read the content of searches.
