- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19830530, 25 days agoSimply ingenious, I can have tons of tabs open and get back to them later without it taking up memory or creating clutter in my space. The new update is great, it's like tabs for my tabs instead of a list now. I feel like I'll never get bored or lose track of something that I want to get back to, and it's not going to create clutter I don't want to lose or keep forever in my bookmarks.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Magpie, a month agoSuper handy extension! Especially when doing research or looking for references. Once you feel like you need a break you can wrap everything up with a single click and not worry about losing track or spending tons of time bookmarking tabs one by one. (One thing I'm missing though is ability to merge groups on android but it's not worthy of removing a star :P)

- Rated 5 out of 5by Haymer Kimbra, a month agoVERY VERY often this completely breaks and deletes ALL tabs saved in it. When it works it works amazingly, until it decides everything youve saved is now made of ghosts and clears itself to fresh install status but with settings the same
I used to exclusively use this but i just cant rely on it whatsoever now
Edit for you guys: If it is firefox doing this, ive gotten no warning or refresh firefox indicators at all and i have auto updates off so im not sure wth is going on here, will be changing my 2 stars to 5 because of this information because it really is the most useful tab storage add on with easy as heck wyas to mass save tabsDeveloper response
posted a month agoHi, it's definitely not a bug in OneTab that causes itself to be wiped.
OneTab storage is handled by Firefox, and is stored in Firefox's internal database format. For some reason, Firefox has wiped this storage area. Do you remember recently being asked if you want to "Refresh Firefox"? This is a prompt shown to you when you upgrade to a new Firefox version (there is a new Firefox version released every month). This feature, confusingly, wipes clean all add-on storage including OneTab's storage. You might have a folder called "Old Firefox Data" in your desktop folder, which could contain a copy if you used this Refresh feature without realizing.
The other possibility is if you had a browser or PC crash, which caused a disk corruption in the Firefox internal storage areas. Firefox would then wipe clean the affected storage area.
"Privacy cleaner" and "Delete unnecessary files" types of software can also delete OneTab data. - Rated 5 out of 5by mez landor, a month ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Droolio, a month agoI was very wary when seeing this v2 update (in the old version I had to be careful to avoid 'Send all tabs... to OneTab', because it basically nuked everything without saving heh)... but I made a third party backup of my Firefox profile (as we all should! *hint hint*) and gave it a spin...
Really pleasantly surprised at how good the extra features are. The filtering options, much needed search, the trash - this whole update has expanded its use case. For me, it's gonna be a bit overwhelming to sort through 24k+ tabs, but at least I now have some tools to help whittle that down and have some degree of organisation.
My only slight gripe so far is the 3 panel UI, it's a bit unnecessary IMO - the Quick list and Tasks can easily share the left panel. I hope the dev takes in all the feedback and also looks into reports of data-loss for some people, coz that's obviously concerning. (Make good third-party backups, people!)Developer response
posted a month agoThanks for the feedback - please also note that there is a new "Show the OneTab action popup" option in the Options page, which shows a popup window when you click the OneTab icon instead of immediately sending all tabs in the current window to OneTab. It's possible in the future we could make the side panels more configurable, like an IDE. If you have any other feature thoughts, please let us know at one-tab.com/feedback - Rated 5 out of 5by thedahlingdarling, a month agoI'm not one to embrace change, especially UI changes, and I don't particularly care for the center aligned look of the new update BUT - while i've been using this add on for years and its always been serviceable and worked well the latest changes have been a game changer for functionality. The ability to now easily click and drag the links around, the stream lined ability to create folders - it all works really well. I don't even know if these are new features or ones I just never figured out how to access but it's all so intuitive now and has really saved me a headache when its time to reorganize my links. This add on is a life saver for me and I'm pleased to see its gotten better and not worse in an ever increasingly enshitified internet. Thanks.
