Privacy policy for Open YouTube Embeds
Open YouTube Embeds does not collect, store, sell, share, or transmit personal data.
The extension runs locally in your browser. It examines embedded YouTube iframe URLs on webpages you visit only when necessary to:
- Identify embedded YouTube videos
- Create the Open on YouTube link for that video
- Determine whether an embedded YouTube video has successfully started playing
Open YouTube Embeds does not collect or store:
- Browsing history
- Websites you visit
- YouTube viewing history
- YouTube or Google account information
- Authentication information
- IP addresses
- VPN information
- Cookies
- Personal information
- Usage statistics
The extension contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking services.
The extension does not operate a remote server and does not transmit information to the extension developer.
To determine whether an embedded video has started playing, the extension communicates locally with YouTube players already embedded on the webpage using the browser's standard messaging functionality.
Clicking Open on YouTube opens the video's normal YouTube watch page in a new browser tab.
When you use YouTube or open a video on YouTube, your interaction with YouTube is governed by Google's and YouTube's own privacy policies. Open YouTube Embeds does not receive data from those interactions.
If a future version of Open YouTube Embeds changes how user data is handled, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
