About this extension
This add-on helps you move faster when skimming and annotating pages. Select some text and count words or characters with one click. If you need to keep your place, highlight the selection with a subtle color you control in Options. It is designed to be fast, private, and respectful of your browsing. There are no host permissions, no remote code, and no tracking. The content script is injected only after you click the popup or use the selection context menu. The default color is a soft yellow and you can set your preferred shade at any time.
On install, you will see a context menu when you select text. You can also use the toolbar button to count the selection and display the word count on the badge. Highlighting uses safe DOM operations that do not rely on innerHTML, and settings are stored locally in storage.sync.
