💡 How to Use the Audio Compressor
Think of the compressor as an automatic volume assistant. It smooths out the difference between the loudest and quietest parts of a video, making quiet dialogue easier to hear without being blasted by sudden loud sounds.

Turn it On: Toggle the Compressor switch in the popup.

Threshold (Sensitivity):
- Lower sensitivity (for example, -10dB): Compression only kicks in for the loudest peaks, leaving most audio untouched.
- Higher sensitivity (for example, -40dB): Compression reacts to much more of the audio, helping with whispering dialogue or inconsistent podcast levels.
- Default (-18dB): A balanced starting point for most content.

Ratio (Strength):
- Low (2:1): Gentle, subtle leveling with a more natural sound.
- Medium (6:1 - Default): Balanced compression for everyday listening.
- High (12:1): Strong limiting that pulls loud and quiet sounds closer together. Great for late-night watching.

You may see a permission warning asking to "Access your data for all websites". This is not used to track you. It is required for the extension's always-on features:

- Instant Control: Lets the extension work immediately without manually activating it on every tab.

Is this permission mandatory?
No. If you prefer stricter privacy, you can restrict the extension's access in your browser settings.
- If Enabled (Default): The extension works automatically on every tab.
- If Disabled: The extension becomes click-to-activate and will only work after you manually open it on that page.
