Hover or tap a word in the subtitle to see its pinyin reading and its meaning.
Lines are split into words, not loose characters: 感谢 is one word with the
definition of 感谢, rather than 感 and 谢 side by side.

Clicking a word takes the video back to where that word is spoken. The
subtitle track only timestamps whole lines, so the word's position is
interpolated within its line — on a long line that is the difference between
rewinding seven seconds and landing on the right word. A slider sets the
run-up, so the first syllable is not clipped.

In practice this is the most reliable way to hear a pronunciation: it is a
native speaker saying that word in that context, and it works in any browser
whether or not a Chinese voice is installed on the system.


The bundled dictionary now carries 114,944 Portuguese entries, covering all
of CC-CEDICT that has anything translatable in it. Measured on a real
18-minute episode, 99.7% of the words on screen have a Portuguese definition.

The translations are machine-made and are labelled as such, with the English
original shown underneath — where the two disagree, the English is the one
written by people. Structural dictionary markers (CL:, cross-references) are
deliberately left alone.

A new menu picks the definitions language independently of the interface
language, so the panel can be in one language and the definitions in another.

They earn their place on a phone, where hitting the scrubber precisely is hard.


A ? beside each setting explains what it does, as a floating popup that
does not shift the controls around. It works on hover and on touch, and is
translated into all seven bundled languages.

• The subtitle background is now an opacity slider from 0 to 100% instead of an
  on/off switch. Anyone who had it switched off keeps it off.
• The interface-language menu is now in the in-page panel as well, which is the
  only one reachable in fullscreen and on Android.

• Mobile site (m.bilibili.com): the add-on did not appear unless the page
  had first been loaded in desktop mode.
• Changing video: clicking another video, or the player moving on by
  itself, left the previous video's subtitles on screen.
• Dictionary: a sense-separator bug affected 9.7% of entries, splitting one
  sense into two. Words mixing letters with characters (B站, 3D打印) could not
  be looked up at all.
• System-voice pronunciation: when the browser accepts the voice and
  produces no sound, the add-on now says so instead of appearing to do nothing.

Fixed a bug that caused the subtitles to appear on mobile only after switching to desktop mode.
